Eco-Feminism...what do you think?

To all the wonderful women of this board, I would like to bring up the concept of Eco-Feminism and get some of your imput on it:

ECOFEMINIST ETHICS:
Shit in attitude
From: Logic of domination
To: Loving perception of non-human world
-care, trust, reciprocity: NOT subordination
-context ~ our morality arises from relationships, community, and bioregion

CURRENT SOCIETY: Problems
(1)Value- hierarchical thinking, place more value on higher
(2)Value - Dualism, Disjunct pairs
Injuncts seeen as opp. & exclusive higher value given to only one.
Body vs. Mind
Emotion vs. Intellect
FEMALE vs. MALE

LOGIC of domination arguments to justify subordination: (nature-human)
A)Whatever has the capacity to conciously change the community in which it lives is morally superior to what ever lacks this capacity.
B)Humans are thus morally superior to plants and animals
C)If any X is morally superior then Y, then X is morally justified in subordinating Y.
D)Thus, humans are morally justified in subordinating plants and animals.

WOMEN--NATURE connection:
Mother Nature
"she"
Nature is raped
Soil fertile
Virgin Timber
--ALL point to some type of WOMEN-NATURE connection.

Let's connect the LOGIC of domination theory with WOMEN--NATURE connection: (men--women)
A)Men have the capacity to conciously change the community in which they live, in turn, they are morally superior to women that lack this capacity.
B)Men are thus morally superior to women.
C)If any Man is morally superior then Woman, thus Men are morally justified in subordinating Women.
D)Thus, men are morally justified in subordinating women.

(these are not my idea, but acutally common male chovenist views.)

Do you have a girlfriend???? Man is morally superior then women...YOU ARE ON THE WRONG BOARD TO ASK something like that.....Men WISH they were morally superior to women....Please what is this?? You would not get along well with me, lets just put it that way

No No, you are not getting the idea of this post. My point is to show everyone how WRONG this idea is, not how good it is. I think it's totally wrong, yet it's published in many books as examples. Hence, philosophy, psychology, and even other sciences.

I wanted to see if other women were outraged by how wrong it is for this to be a reality.

P.S. I am not a woman, just wanted to show women the views of hard headed males out there

Like I said above, current society NEEDS to change if we are to become equal. The Values are totally bias an need to be reviewed and understood by everyone to be wrong. If not, we will live forever in the dark of separation of the sexes, which will never help anything.
I would also like to add: If this problem is just overlooked and never brought up, then, in turn, it will NEVER get fixed.

I just hope women take this seriously and express their views on this subject. It's really something that should be addressed with serious concern.

In my opinion man is no more superior than woman except in physical stregnth and sometimes not even in that case. I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for almost 2 years now and that's the only man that I am subordanant to because that's my role in the relationship, and that's the way GOD says it should be. Now that dosnt mean that he is superior over me because we are both equal in the relationship, what that means to me is that I am respecting his position and he respects my position in the relationship by not taking advantage of my subordanance. I work with dogs and even they have dominate and subordanant roles. When a litter of puppies are born sometimes one or two dies, the stronger ones weed out the weak ones. Then as they grow there will be one that is superior and the others realize there subordanance "top dog''. So my point is.... That's nature, and just because I am subordanant to most men physically dos'nt mean I am mentally, spiritually, or intellecually. Alot of women are mentally, spiritually and intellecually superior over men.

did anyone ever think that man made up that stuff about woman being subordinate and justifying it by putting it in the Bible so that women will always feel morally wrong if they assert themselves in the least?

just wondering. I don't understand religion too well. Seems like a great excuse to keep women in their 'place'.

But then, that wasn't exactly the point of the initial thread...sorry.

Getting back though....whatever logic is used is always the perfect rationale for that person's/group's status quo. That's human nature. We do not have to accept rationale as fact. Rationale is just that...a way to maintain your position and remove the cognitive dissonance caused by real-life conflict with your rationale.

seriously, i couldn't be bothered wasting my time arguing this point... men (or women for that matter) who think this way aren't going to change because of what i or any other female say, in fact that will just strengthen their minds on the idea (ever seen a black man change the views of a clansman, nope...) so i just say screw 'em
