Eating Out with family

What do ya'll do when you have people visiting, and they want to go out to eat somewhere that doesn't have anything that fits into your diet?

For example tonight we are going to a local pizza place that has some of the best pizza around. They don't have much else there so ordering a salad or steak isn't really an option. The reason we are going there is because my sister-in-law has flown in while she is on some break for college and will be here until Monday. There is no way I can get out of going there, so my options are to go and not eat anything there and eat before or after, just have a slice or two of pizza and take some glucorell beforehand or try to get injuried or very sick before we leave so it gets canceled for 'reasons beyond my control' lol.

I guess I'm just gonna go and have a slice or two of whatever they order, but I really was kinda hoping I could have my last sirloin and some steamed brocolli tonight!

Every pizza joint i've ever been to has had salad of some sort and i'm sure if you ask they would throw some grilled chicken on it. If that is not the case and there is no way well then i would make it my cheat meal for the week. And still if you dont want to do that, eat before you go, drink a ton of water while you are there, and just enjoy the company. But man it does suck dieting or just not eating like a normal person. It blows, this is the shit that you have to think about, that most people wouldn't give a second thought.

I hate that. Usually I'll eat my meal before hand and just take the outing as a visit with the family. But it is really awkward. Even worse is when they all decide to order one big pizza and share. I'd go with some type of salad or if you want to be "polite" and not stand out, order a slice of pizza and just "pick" at it. Fold it, break off pieces, eat a couple bites and leave the rest. If your lucky they won't notice.

haha
well I'm not 'on a diet' per say, I'm just not really eating things like random unhealthy pizza anymore as a general rule, I guess I'll see how it goes.

I've yet to be happy with my waiter's ability to keep my water full at restaraunts. I guess I drink it a lot faster than they are used to . . .

YEAH!! The water glass "issue" ... bro, I know exactly what you mean... i finish two glasses before friends or family are done their first soda... and they call us "Weird!"

I'd say take 2 gluc-r's before the pizza... or opt for a salad with grilled chicken, ect.

Office meetings are my big pet peeve. Every week my manager insists on bringing in a platter of every variety of chocolate cake and pastry. Everyone's sitting there chewing on something except me. One of these days I swear I'm gonna flip the tray so nobody can have any.

deff... nice comment.

Bro bring in some rolled oats on a platter with some veggies around it, mostly brocolli.. they'll LOVE that!

Or... start to eat a pastry. 2 bites into it you spit it all out... and loudly with disgust say, "God Damn.... I could feel my arteries clogging up already. How are you people still alive?!"

LOL. They already get pissed off when I reheat my grilled chicken and broccolli in the lunchroom. My tupperware container is gonna end up on the street pretty soon.

on the water glass comment

red lobster ALWAYS has another glass ready for me as soon as i get the last gulp down, dont matter who the waiter or waitress is...and they always get a 10 buck tip (at least)....

other places not so much as they let me down lol
