I never got why they all seemed to clain "born again status" as if to say that the new status gives them some forgiveness for their crimes. Personally, I think if you're born again, that should win you a one way pass right to the chair. Think of it this way, you can god can finally talk it out! Everyone wins! AND you can use your own hand as a joy buzzer forever!

the idea is everybody is obviously born once
when you see the "light" of Christ then you are metaphorically "born again"
being "born again" is not necessarily an admission of having commited and/or lived in sin
