Does bodytype really matter?

its all about the individual.

in your case more often than not, you should be comsumning way more carbs and bulking to gain muscle. otherwise you just aren't gonna gain any weight.

i was an ectomorph all my life (one of the skinnier kids in school) .. i had very little to no appetite and my mom would force me to eat even if it meant i would throw up. i had no appetite for breakfast for example, and would get called home for throwing up in school frequently. i guess i just couldn't hold down food who knows..

until i started lifting weights then magically i started putting on muscle, shoulders started getting wider, arms got bigger... i remember when i played football some of the guys a year or two younger than me would claim i was lying about my age and that i was way older cause of my muscle development.. sometimes thats all it takes, just busting your ass in the weight room.

now in my 30's even on a very strict diet it feels like 1 cheat meal ruins my whole week of eating perfect. I have a tremendous appetite and it seems like i gain muscle and strength really fast compared to others. so the body changes, perhaps its my genetics being meditarrean in descent. they say that my people are skinny when they are young then are fat when they get older. like italian women are skinny and then get fat as they age. not sure if that is just a myth or if its a legit fact but that seems to be what has happened to me.

how old are you anyway?

I'm 22. Just looking for tips because I eat like a horse already, been training heavy for years and got the strength I just want to add the mass :(
And I want to find out what peoples past experiences are and gain some knowledge to get the best out my workout.

If you aren't gaining enough, then eat more....even if you think you are already eating enough. You need to train like an animal also to promote that growth

22 is still young. wait till you get into your late 20's early 30's.. metabolism will slow down.

also i will assume you don't smoke which is an appetite killer. and also your job, if you dig ditches all day or mow lawns then yeah its gonna be hard to gain cause you are burning so much muscle and fat all day

take advantage of your genes and eat like crazy. once you have the size and your muscle is there, then u can worry bout cutting down

Yeah I have a warehouse job so I'm walking around all day on my feet. I've done a whole week of takeaways before McDonald's, KFC the lot for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a load of crap in between and I gained 1 lousy pound. I train heavy, 4 days per week.

IMO at the stage that most of us are at body type really dosnt mean much. Of course if you are at the pro level then thats a diff story.
For the most part for us mere mortals its all about eating and not doing the same workout for years on end.
Your young yet so your metabolism is efficient and high so you need to eats lots of CALS. Clean cals and that right there will do an amazing amount for you.
For your age group I would suggest pending on the excersize 5-10 reps and 3-6 sets. For your compound work 5x5 is dam hard to beat and that should be the body of your workout. On accessory lifts ligher weight and higher reps. But that should be limited at this stage for you.
Good luck and post up what you decide to do bro.
