Doc says no more squats

Went to my physio/chiro doc this morning and he advised me not to do squats anymore or risk rupturing a cracked disc in my back.

I hate putting my trust in a doc, has anyone else been told this but kept on squating without problems once the crack healed? There is no way in hell i want to rupture the disc, the pain and bullshit this crack causes in intense enough for me.

you can always ask someone else

but i take it he's seen the X'rays etc.....if so he'd probably know whats best i would have thought

it sucks but at the end of the day i you lose your back your screwed IMHO

Louie Simmons broke his back on two seperate occasions. Facturing the 5th Lumbar. They wanted to fuse the disk and told him he may never walk again without crutches. Instead he went with Accupuncture and Accupressure. Did nothing but reverse hyper extensions during the lay off. This all happened back in the 70's

Well not too long back the "Old Man" squatted 920 at around 240 and at 50+ years old. So it can be done.

Good Luck

Don't mess with your back sweetie...You'll have major problems all your life if you screw it up even more!

I've always thought that Squats helped build strenght in the back..but then again, on a healthy back and not one with a cracked disc!. BE CAREFUL!

I didn't lift for 5 years because of my back. Had a car accident and had to get it fixed. I now have a fusion of c5 and c6.

Last winter got hit again and blew it out again......doc said this time nothing could be done and to live my life the best I could.

Anyway...what I tryin to say is putting your life on hold sucks ass! I would get more opinions and deal with the best you can. I would work my legs other way without putting pressure on my shoulders/back and with time the disc should move back.

Also hit backdoc up...he's on the board and gave me some solid info after i gave hime a really good account of my problems.

BEST OF LUCK...take it slow.

get a fifth opinion if you asked me......

when i played ball i had shin splints.....so bad...i could not run then the doc told me i would have them for the rest of my life and that i should take time off...........

I said screw you and your whole platoon!!!!!!!

so i ran for and took care of my self...by streching, and wraming up properly..............result.
never had a shin splint again.

goodluck......
