Do your knees make noise when you squat?

Noisy knees

So do mine but its genetic for me, grow to damn fast as a teenager so my knees are a little f'd up. Never any pain just noise, still you would think that if your joints are making noise that something is getting messed up over time.

I damaged my right knee on the 1st. I have to have a MRI to see how tore up it is. Knocked me out of a meet I was training for next month.
I can still walk without a noticeable limp - so it can't be that bad?

I'm another popcorn machine, that is when I'm getting off the couch though. I don't workout.

When I was younger I never had any issues with my knees, then in my late 20's I stopped training for a few years. When I started back up again at 30, I noticed my left knee was making a squeaky noise when squatting. Not painful but noisy. That eventually went away but now I have pain sometimes in my right knee. Feels like fluid buildup, but not sure exactly what it is.

During squats I feel more stress on my knees if I don't go all the way down. On the other hand if I go deep, ass to the floor, I feel great! Strange uh?

What is weird is I notice it more on FS than BS, even though the weight is 20% lighter

FS works more on the quad you are supposed to feel the tension on your knees, not the bad kind though.

Oh yeah!! Mostly the left knee which had 2 surgerys, one time for torn cartilage, once for a torn ACL (thanks to years of motox). In fact, the other day it was making "squishing" noises..strangest thing I ever heard. Never hurts though :)

i even went to a doctor cuz mine were making noise and hurt if i squatted for a long time. Fucking injected me with a steroid didnt even do shit hurt like hell though went straight into the side of my knee.

My knees don't pop, but my hips are so tight lately it takes 185 just to get to parallel. I need to do some hip mobility drills and foam rolling bad.

Depends on the form I use. If I use proper form, with all my weight resting on my heels, then I do not usually get the creaking noise. If I do lousy form, with my weight leaning toward my toes, then I hear it 100% of the time.

I can't hear it over the music and extreme pressure in my brain.

My buttchecks make noise after a protien shake.

Oh, knees? What was the post again?

Awwwwhaaaa

Got one knee that will sqweak ah little due to football

I've been getting physiotherapy for my knee, it cracks when I bend my leg past 90 degrees. Apparently it's a tight patella. Doesn't usually hurt…

Mine use to not to but then I damaged them really bad and now they do all the time which really bothers me cause I could feel them creek and shit. I went on osta for a while from sarms search and it fixed the problem for a while but then I started getting stronger and I started going heavier and they started creaking again :(

I think over time every gym goer who does leg work will get this sound occurring in their knee joints. The term everyone is looking for is "Crepitus". What happens is after long time use of the knee joints the cartilage surrounding the bone begins to erode away and the joint ends grind against one another. Typically, there are no associated symptoms such as pain or inflammation and the overall condition is rather benign. If however, you do see redness and swelling around the knee joints or you experience sharp pains you should contact your medical provider.

I tore my left knee cartilage at kickboxin. had it shaved a couple of years ago. This one is fine but my right ones started clicking when I'm squatting. It also gettin a bit sore after a run. Not good

Man my knees make a sound like you would hear if you are slowly bent a pencil until it cracked and snapped in half lol

My right knee is the same but I get a lot of pain in it. Sometimes it'll cracked real loud and I won't be able to really walk on it for a few days. Usually I combat it with more weight.

Yep. Mega-dose any kinda fish oils. OR just get some kinda joint support supps. My stepdad started taking Universal's Animal Flex and it seriously fixed his arthritis-y elbows and fingers. Forged Joint Repair from NeedToBuildMuscle did wonders for me while I was on a letro run a couple years ago. Good luck!

i do noticed it when i do it, however not always sounds. i actually look forward to hear the noise I think i am doing it good when i can hear it.

Ya, mine go snap, crackle, pop!, every time. There's no pain at all. I have often wondered if it's similar to the cracking you hear when getting adjustments from a chiropractor. I remember one chiro telling me that it was essentially gas or something escaping when the joints shift by each other or something like that. I have no idea if that's legit or not.
