Nope....I train in the same style with the same intensity all year.

When you start a cutting cycle do you change the way you lift like as in the old saying goes more reps lighter weight for definition and less reps heavy weight for bulking just wondering what the experienced guys here do and what is the truth about it.

i drop the weight a little bit but i still train heavy. Cutting only means trying to lose the fat. Muscle size can still be aquired if everything is done properly

i use higher reps .....simply for additional cardio purpose...., also do drop sets more frequently

Not totally the same. I mix things up a lot more and do isolation exercises more than usual. Ill also slow the reps down with lighter weight. Generally I move more away from the power exercises and focus more on shaping. I also up the time by 15-20 minutes and keep the cardio pretty much the same and focus a lot on exactly what I eat.

I switched to a 2-way split circuit routine when i started to cut/define about 4 weeks ago...and cranked my cardio to 3x per week 45-75 min plus 20 min 2x per week after lifting.

Workouts

I use low-volume workouts with good success. If you do moderate-high volume, I would lower the volume when cutting.

i keep my reps from 8-12 and add drops sets....i also do 25 minutes of cardio everyday......it worked for me....i went from 242 to 217.....although i did lose a little strength.....i dont look like a fat baf of snacks anymore.....plus a winnie eq stack doesnt hurt either.....:D
