Do you agree that Soy Protein Isolate is the best for Bodybuilders?

Soy is inferior in almost every respect to animal derived protein. That first excerpt is one huge assumption. The claims made are not even corralative let alone causative.

Personally, I get my protein from all different sources. Whey, Egg, Casein, Milk, Legumes, Animal, Soy etc. The important thing is that you do not limit yourself to one type of protein. You should take it in from all different type of food, liquid etc.

People on this thread seem to be confusing soy isolate with regular soy protein. Those 2 are quite different. Soy isolate should be used by BB but regular soy should not. And the posted artice refers only to the ISOLATE not regular soy.

Penta pro is a good chioce from protein factory.

if i could only pick one powder it would be whey

if i could only pick one protein source it would be beef

Exactly, i would say taking a variety of proteins is your best bet.
I take more whey than anything....

please explain how it is inferior, we can view this from other aspects as well, including other nutrients, carbohydrate and fats.

soy does not contain saturated fats or cholesterol.

it's fat content is primarily polyunsaturated...

it is also noteworthy to point out an array of benefits from phytochemicals in the soy.

and also take to mention that the carbohydrates in the soy bean are low GI.

But I believe he is talking isolate so any fat/carbohydrate in the isolate should be minimal if existant..

Now as to other respects, I believe geoffgarst posted a study on the diet discussion board about a week or so ago comparing casiene to whey protein as to which is superior for muscle building, the conculusion was casiene was better due to the fact it is slower digesting than whey is, soy is also slower digesting, and it was also concluded that whey is only optimal post workout due to it's rapid absorption.. which we do want directly post workout, I think soy is a fine choice for a secondary or primary intake of protein and whey perhaps optimal primarily post workout.

Soy Isolate has no isoflavones! Nelson stated this first.

Soy Isolate, not soy, is the subject at hand.

Soy isolate is just the protein. No isoflavones. No carbs. Nothing but amino acids.

I don't know if it is best, but it is a very good source of protein and it is very cheap -- $3 / lb. at www.proteincustomizer.com.

I would say go ahead an buy the isolate. It doesn't contain isoflavones, so you don't have to worry about soy induced gyno (which doesn't even exist, but if it did, soy isolate wouldn't cause it).

With Protein Customizer, you can order like 80% soy isolate and 20% whey if you like, or 100% soy isolate, or whatever you want.

Having said that, soy products are also fine to consume. I eat a good amount of tofu each week, I drink soy milk, I eat edamame.

I am not a pussy or a coward in any way. I am ripped to about 7% bf. I have been always told that I am too aggressive and that I have an anger problem, I am mean, et c. et c. My point is: Soy hasn't made me feminine or given me estrogenic side effects.

Oh shit. I just forgot the first rule of soy club.

Well in the sense of the word isolate... isolated.. one may assume it's the pure compound, though in any case I've seen this is not the case.. I believe they call it isolate if it's 90% + concentration of protein (correct me if I'm wrong).

my soy protein isolate does have isoflavone content, which is lists on the side of the container.. I baught it for this specific reason, as I wish to incorperate genistein, daidzin and glycitein into my diet.
