Do thermogenics really only start working full blast after 2-3 months?

I read somewhere recently (can't remember where) that ECA or other similar thermos only really kick in long after the buzzy feeling has worn off, and that they'll work better the loger you're on them.

Is this a load of crock?

I believe they work less the longer you are on them that's why it is recommended to cycle on and off to keep up their effectiveness.
Holy Shit I'm helpful tonight!

I agree

Seriously had great results with Xen, started using it more and more though to feel and eventually I realized I was just wasting my money. Started buying all these different brands (thought it was the Xen, not me)--again realized I was just wasting money. Quit taking--like a year later was reading somewhere on the supp forum and everybody was talking about MD6--I bought some, never even seen the original version everybody raved about but still had great results. After two months, stopped working.

I did alot of research. They work by stimulating your adrenal system but over time, you will burn out the sensors that detect the ingredients. Plus your body adjusts to the stuff and reacts less and less the longer you stay on. You can either take more and more until you break the whole process or give them time off to resensitize. Similar to insulin resistance, just different parts.

Different people have different time frames though I'm sure--some people might get away with a longer cycle, some with less. As for me I'm sticking with the 6wk on/off plan, works pretty well.

huh

That's alot of info and I haven't made it through yet--the theory made total sense to me and I know I saw some research proving it but that was years ago and certainly not as much as was provided in your link (thx btw).

So what gives--why would a manufacturer label thier product in a way that reduces revenue and why don't they keep working on me (not the sides but the thermo effect) after a while? So many people say the same thing too. Does it slow down and regroup or something after that point, then increase thermogenesis afterwards??? (if that made any sense).

If you are obese then an ephedrine/caffeine combo may increase thermogenesis with long term use. This does not apply to other stimulants such as norephedrine....it is very specific to ephedrine. However if you are not obese there is little (no) evidence that long term E/C use is better than short term except you get less CNS side effects if you use E/C chronically compared to cycling it. The best reason to NOT jump right and take E/C at the beginning of your cutting diet is that you don't need it (fatloss is usually good at the beginning of a diet and appetite isn't too outta control). It's best to save it for when your fatloss stalls and your appetite is getting hard to control so you still have something up your sleeve.

Let's not forget that ephedrine is addictive in a manner very similar to amphetamines. No matter how long you take it, you should expect a crash when you come off it. IMHO this is another reason to NOT cycle it, though I take weekends off to assist with carb loading and to catch up on sleep.

Ha ha ha! Mind reader!

Darn! <Puts bottle back on shelf>

Well, I'll be taking NYC, so I guess it doesn't affect me anyway. But it's good info to have.

Millie, that's a great link. Thank you. :)
