Do the people that actually work out here work out your forearms?

I think my str is out growing my grip. What do you do for your forearms other than self pleasure!!

YES, it should be a staple in any workout imo. I like behind the back barbell curls and seated crooked bar up-curls. My farearms are massive btw
 
If anything, I need reverse curls to even out my developement. My forearms are the first thing to get pumped with anything I do. It sucks. I use the preacher curl bench to offset that once in a while. Wide grip barbell helps too.
 
hammer and reverse cable curls have served me well
 
friday is my clean-up day. . .i always do some forearm work that day. . .straight bar over my knees or the edge of the bench. . .forearm curls. . .palms facing up and palms facing down. . .i also do some forearm curls standing up and using dumbells. . .no matter what i do though, i ain't no popeye. . .
 
my forearms are in proportion but losin ga lot of my grip as my strength boosts everywhere else. I do reverse curls. I always forget about forearm curls
 
i never did specifically because the type of curls i do hit it pretty good. i dont have much time to go to the gym to begin with so working out my forearms specifically isnt something i can put in my routine, but like i said, the curls i do hit them hard and always get the pumped.

those spring-loaded things with the two handles that you squeeze work ok. . .plus you can use them while you're driving your car, watching tv, drinking beer, etc.

doing pull-ups and deadlifts without wrist wraps also helps. . .

heavy wooden dowel with a hole drilled in the middle. . .slide a piece of sturdy rope through the hole and tie it in a knot to secure it to the dowel. . .tie a 25lb weight to the other end of the rope. . .hold the dowel out in front of you with one hand on either side of the hole and start reeling in the rope. . .once it's reeled in, unreel it until the weight touches the floor again. . .wash, rinse, repeat. . .

hinder bigtime, i used to use straps on almost all my back and trap movements and when i didnt have them my grip was pathetic. I threw out the straps and now my grip can handle any weight I use in my workouts. I will also hang for 5 seconds for my last 5 reps of each set of pullups i do..that has also increased my grip alot.
 
I ONLY work out my forearms. I'm going for that popeye physique.

ya i figured so.. when I juice is when my grip gets way weaker than my strength.. when I'm not cycling it stays up to par.. guess I'm getting too strong too fast so need to isolate the forearms and work them out

you ever do that lift where you put two plate weights together and squeeze them and hold them str8 out until you fail? what's that called, i use to do that to get the veins outta my arms pumping hard

ya my gym use to have the dowel thing but it disappeared. I liked it.. guess i could make one at home
 
stick on a rope gravity twist

and I do the hand gripper thingies in the car while commuting via highway to work each morning.

my grip definately sucks compared to my grips, on back days i sometimes work my grip out.

i also started doing hammers on bicep days,

grip can be fun, i really need to add a 5th gym day in for stuff like grip, calves, and abs, maybe some powercleans for fun too, but i doubt ill ever do that lol

yeah iv been using straps for alot of stuff and my forearm grip is suffering, but i care more about holding back the other parts of my body than making sure my grip is up to par

lol.. what do you call reverse curls? They mostly target your forearms but work some bi's..

I'm gonna be that guy at the gym doing reverse curls and forearm curls :worried:

what if I did forearm curls on the smith machine.. is that the ultimate faghag?
 
Once a week, every week I work them directly. Take a pic and post it.

Nope, I grab 80-135lbs blocks for a living. @ 90 degrees I've had them as big as 16.5". I've also won armwrestling tournaments. They are good to go.
 
i always hit hammer curls....but i don't think it gets my forearms enough. i should be doing wrist curls and grip crap...and messing with my sledgehammer, but I never do.
 
reverse curls plus standing forearm curls (or whatever you call them, stand using heavyish dumbells and gooseneck your wrist for 20ish reps)

My forearm is so big it looks like someone's calf. I could probably put it in my avatar and call it a leg/arm.

Are Reverse Curls the ones where you go to the gym to do curls but you change your mind and don't do them? Sort of "back out" of doing curls?

I used to work them a lot directly. Reverse curls, wrist curls, reverse wrist curls, that thing where you roll a weight up a rope.
Now I just let things like deads, pullups and curls be my wrist workout. I haven't noticed a difference.

I don't shovel concrete anymore. Fuck that shit. lol! I hate concrete and since I'm one of the owners of my company, I'm fortunate enough to say NO. We lay a ton of paver and that shit is excellent. Just picking up a stack of 20 will work those bad boys good. Wheelbarrowing is also great. I don't do that shit anymore either. lol! Oh shit, I'm getting lazy.

I just went back to the union last month. My work was getting a little slow and can do it on the weekends plus I can't afford to pay almost $500 every week towards my benefits package. Luckily I still hold 2 cards and can grab up and go whenever I need.
 
damn I did some reverse curls and some forearm curls today and my forearms feel like i just beat off for 8 hours straight.. awesome!
 
i do my forearms on arms day.. i superset my first 3 tri/bi exercises with some sort of forearm crap..

my forearms are fucken spent right now..they get pumped when i type
 
I do heavy deads, heavy rows, heavy curls all with no straps. I also use the Captains of Crush grippers and am gettin close to closing the #3 (takes 265lbs of force).

Reaching back to cradle the balls of the members of your gay dance troup doesn't count as reverse grip curls no matter how well hung they may be.

i only use straps on very heaviest sets and only sometimes then.
for fore's i just hit preacher wrist and reverse wrist bar curls, supersets, 2wice/wk
and i already do hella reverse and hammer biceps curls, and get lots of forearm destruction in my heavy back routine 1ce weekly. combined my fore's are literally hard as rock 24 hours a day. my hands go a lil numb sometimes from how swoll my fore's stay. 2much swoll dogg.
SOUTH
 
hammer curls,behind the back reverse curls, thors hammer, fascia stretch laying on a flat bench and do wrist curls. the ones that got me is thors hammer and the fascia stretching one. i got fucking stretch marks now on the inside of my left elbow :(
