Do steroids have an effect on the CNS?

Here's the deal. I am very sensitive to a lot of different supplements, drugs, chemicals, etc due to a severe reaction to ephedrine I had a few years back and was wondering how, if at all, steroids (testosterone) affects the Central Nervous System (CNS).

The reason I ask is because I'm not feeling too good after starting my next cycle (Test Prop / EQ - 400mg of each per wk). I've used Prop and Deca before (my first cycle... currently on my second) without ever having any problems. I'm not sure if maybe it's cause I'm using a different supplier now or what. I've been on my cycle for about 2 weeks now and would really hate to have to stop. I am concerned however for my health. I also started taking a new multi-vitamin with a lot of different herbal stuff in it (no stimulants or anything) so I'm thinking it might be because of that and not the gear...

And as for questions regarding 'symptoms'... I'm not trying to be rude or anything but I just honestly can't describe them - I spent the better part of the year after my ephedrine 'incident' trying to explain what was going on neurogically inside me but just couldn't seem to encapsulate it in words. I just want to know if steroids have the ability to affect the CNS... thank you.

they have both direct and modulatory actions on the CNS. androgens are stimulants of the CNS. if you had issues with ephedrine it is not suprising that you are experiencing side effects.

Should I lower my prop dosage and bump up my eq dosage then?

It affects the CNS, but nothing like Ephedrine does..... Not really sure what is going on with ya, but you shouldn't feel stimulated like you would on Ephedrine.....

be careful with the EQ also, it can definately contribute to anxiety/paranoia in some people.

I keep my blinds shut and only leave the house at night. To make sure I'm not being followed in my car I spend more time looking in my rear view mirror than I do watching the road ahead. Black helicopters are constantly following me and the NSA is monitoring my phone conversations and email. I think the fat old man that lives next to me is a DEA Agent and my neighbor across the street is in the ATF. I think my old lady is cheating on me even though she's chained to my bed 24/7. Underwear gnomes are stealing my underwear from the clothes dryer. My cell phone is causing a brain tumor and a terrorist attack on USA soil is imminent. God help us all, the end is near!!! Time to go buy more water purification tabs, plastic sheeting and duct tape. I'm not paranoid-just well aware of my surroundings.

With a masters in psychology, I would highly advise you be extra careful with any AAS, as having a propensity to ephedra, AAS can cause severe emotional and psychological problems to the CNS in those individuals with a history of underlying problems or symptoms from any type of performance enhancing drugs of any sort. I would get a check-up or see a neurologist to schedule an EEG to make sure your not in any type of danger. Not trying to scare you, just have to give sound advice to avoid any symptons you may be unaware of.

Yes they do effect the CNS.

What is an EEG...?

Good to know I'm not the only one.

becoming an addict of drugs in general or steroids?

Both. Although they say steroids aren't addictive, I have to wonder if that's untrue judging from the # of guys I know that have mega dosed roids for 10-20 yrs non stop.

That's just life in George Bush's America. But don't worry...your privacy is being held in confidence.

i was already a drug addict before taking the aas that gave me those types of sides from the time i was 16-20 i was doing every drug under the sun and i stopped using and began working out when i was almost 21 i used eq when i was 23 or so in back to back cycles time on time off and continued to cycle with other aas until i was 25 and do to lifestyle changes and other issues i had to stop working out and started using again and relapsed and for the past year and a half twice as bad as when i used before.i wonder if the eq had any affect to making me relapse like i did? but having said all that i am clean and have been for a while and i plan to get bloodwork done before doing any gear.

Good luck with that bro. Even the strongest willed individuals are not immune from the throes of addiction. I also was around drugs from a very young age. Half of my class smoked dope in 4th grade. I even knew 2nd graders that smoked weed too. If bodybuilding wasn't a part of my life as an adult who knows how much more I'd have partied? I can only imagine I'd be much worse off w/o BB in my life to steer me away from using drugs-esp meth, X, and coke. It's been almost 13 months to the day since I beat my 5 yr long problem with Nubain. I even started posting on EF back then for the purpose of keeping my mind off of using again. Good luck again. Peace. West Si-eeed!!!

Wow and you still had time to major in english... :)

Yes,
especially orals. If I do the new hightend doses of pills on the market these days I have to take a valium or a xanax every once in a while... Not addictive in quantity, perhaps a xan for a panac attack once a week and a valium while I'm stealing underwear and picking locks on bed posts.

Which orals? You really pop benzos all the time like that...?

Seems that your CNS is sensitive to stimulants. Gear will also put your CNS into "high gear". I kinda know what you are referring to. Whatever you do, don't use Tren, I've read that some users get way too "edgy" with that. :chomp:

Hah! I know a guy going for his pro card and he has to eat four or five Valiums at night just to go to sleep, has a panac attack and eats four or five xanax that minute! Now there is some abuse. He's addicted, shame. Benzo withdrawl matches opiate withdrawl in intensity, but instead of 3 days it takes MONTHS to START to feel better.
3mg a week of xan, a a val here and there won't kill you. But, when I run out, I gotta admit I do reach for the niquil to go to sleep.
Look up xan withdrawl in goog, you'll see what I mean.
Cheers

Well I'm a recovering addict... I'm not going to be popping benzos anytime soon. What gear or orals are you on that is causing you to need them in the first place?

just guessing but i would say fina,eq, and or winny

didnt read the other replies, quick answer is yes there will be bodywide effects including changes in the CNS. hormones like these are not very specific drugs, meaning that they will affect tissues all over the body. also, playing with your hormones will have secondary effects on your hormone cascades and so somewhere in thre you are certainly going to get CNS effects

you might want to try a product called PGH by Universal kits. the primary ingredient in PGH (which is a product designed to increase HGH levels) is GABA. GABA is given to epilepsy patients to prevent seizures/neurological overstimulation and might help to calm down your system a bit. only $25 a month when i ordered i believe its still the same. (great fat loss benefeits as well if youre looking to try something new)

its an "oral" hint hint product, so have your slin pins ready.

have you used it along with hgh and aas?

sorry but no one has given any sound proof at all. sure aas can cause anxiety but don't just say watch out for eq. tell him why and what it did to you personally or keep it shut
