Do I have bad taste if I didn't enjoy Kill Bill?

I'm almost afraid to tell some of my friends who are diehard Tarantino fans. I saw it yesterday and was bored through the majority of it. The over-the-top gore was cool with blood fountaining out of severed limbs, but really that was about all I found interesting. It's like the scenes are average at best, but I'm supposed to be impressed because there's cool music playing in the background. I thought the fight scenes were too long and not enough attention was paid to the plot. I'm embarrassed to say that I enjoyed "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" more than this movie. During quiet parts of "Kill Bill," my girl and I could hear chainsaws roaring from the next theater, and after the movie was over we both admitted we wished we were in the other theater.

1) I like Uma Thurman
2) I'm beginning to wonder if Spentagn is curling
3) I got the power up and won the game

tarantino fans can be cult-like. there is nothing wrong with not jumping on the tarantino bad wagon. movies are just entertainment - it's all about personal taste.

i like kung fu movies, so i enjoyed kill bill - but i'm far from being a die-hard tarantino fan.

tarantino movies suck

For the most part, people just jump on the band wagon.

Personally, I'll judge something for myself. I don't listen to the masses.

I have no desire to see this movie.

Well Pulp Fiction was entertaining as hell, as was the first half of From Dusk Till Dawn. He did Four Rooms, too, didn't he? That was also cool. But this just seemed like I was watching Uma fight people for two hours, which got old after a while. Don't get me wrong, she's hot as hell in the movie, but it just didn't really bring anything new to the table like I was hoping.

My name is buck, and i'm here to fuck

Anyway, I think most people (well, smarter ones) can enjoy Kill Bill on an artistic level, if nothing else.

Uma thurman is pretty much the definition of a MILF. Hot damn.

He did the last scene in Four Rooms - the thumb chopping scene.
Each room in that movie was a different writer/director... or at least director.

I've been watching either Dora the Explorerer, veggie tales, or winnie the pooh for as long as I can remember. Which has nothing to do with what I'm about to say.

Fuck everyone else SSME. You my bor! If you hated kill bill then lets bust that spare 325 bar you carry in the maxima out and do some curls. Word dog.

Some of the fight scenes were cool...other than that I was like "WTF??!"

lol...awesome. my nigga!!

i've since increased the weight that i haul around with me to 365lbs since i'm now able to hit sets of that on deads. i feel the additional quarter plate adds an unrivaled intimidation factor like no other when you're hitting deads on a grassy median while staring down the shitbox who was tailgating you.

i have to admit that i've seen some veggie tales before. went down to visit my gf's sister's in San Antonio who has a 2 year old and we watched a couple of veggietale episodes. not bad at all. larry the cucumber doesn't fuck around.

I think it had some great emotional scenes in it. For example when Uma's character wakes up from her coma and realizes her baby is gone and when she tries to get into a car with her legs paralyzed. To me the movie was a tribute to all the old asian kung fu movies of the past. I thought it did it justice brilliantly, especially with Uma dressing up in the same jumpsuit that Bruce Lee had on in one of his movies. This movie was also very creative using anime to showcase Lucy Liu's character's story. Great music added into the mix. I'm looking forward to the second part.

Violent movies don't do it for me. There's enough of that in the real world. I prefer sex. There's never enough of that. I can go with the gore if it's totally over the top and unrealistic like Freddy Kreuger.

To those who didn't like Kill Bill....

I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

It's not simply an action kung-fu fighting movie. If you can truly appreciate it for it's cinematic excellence, then you can appreciate the movie.

What made this movie so great for me was that going in I thought how could a bunch of chicks engage in good fight scenes, however, I was blown away at how great these women performed. Awesome choreography considering the fact that none of the women, besides Lucy Liu, are known for their martial arts!

I enjoyed the anime that was introduced in the middle of the movie. That was a nice touch and to me, enhanced the whole Japanese theme.

I like how the storyline went back and forth and kept me thinking trying to piece it all together.

Kill Bill-- better than Pulp Fiction not as good as Reservoir Dogs.

Resevoir Dogs is fucking amazing and it is saying a lot if you think kill bill was better than pulp fiction. I guess I will have to go see it then.

fuck.

and kill bill was about as entertaining as bacterial vaginosis.

Kill Bill is the second best movie of the year. If you didn't like it you might possibly be gay and should stick to movies like "How to lose a guy in 10 days"

yeah.

I'm sorry but Kill Bill isn't even in the same area code as pulp fiction. I saw it, and yeah it was ok, but it wasn't that great. Kinda dragged on. The only thing that interested me throughout was the ending basically. It was cool and pretty smooth due to the soundtrack and it being Tarantino, but overall not too entertaining for me.

Larry the cuke could kick some High Holy Butts if he was in that movie I bet..

And you would have learned something too..

Kill Bill was one of the best films I have ever seen, and I hate most everything Hollywood puts out these days.

i feel bad for those of you who cannot enjoy kill bill on an artistic level. no one tells a story quite like tarantino....the dialogue was spot on, often hilarious at times....the anime was new and refreshing, the drawings superb...the action was also top noch, fuck all that computer bullshit (granted, some of the action was far-fetched)...the gore was just tarantino being a nutcase, but it was also a homage (sp?) to old japanese samurai karate flicks tarantino loves...and the music was second to none. the man is a genius...he makes better movies than anyone else in the business, IMHO.

i would also like to add that lucy liu and uma thurman are delicious.

g.s.

your handle cracked me up because my best friend and i said "shitler" one night back when we were like 15 and drunk and thought it was the most hilarious thing we'd ever heard in our lives at the time. 13 years later we still say it randomly.

i respect all the points you made - i did enjoy parts of it, but overall i just felt it was missing something. i guess i just missed the whole point of it being a nod to kung fu flicks. i was expecting something on the level of PF story-wise.
