Its funny but yes I do. To tell the truth I am already plaining out tomorrows dinner. :worried: I have a issues lol.

Every weekend I plan and COOK for the following week's meals( or as much of them as I can beforehand). It makes it a lot easier when I get home at night to have it done, or 1/2 way done;makes my life a whole lot easier!

I need a Barley soup recipe. Care to share if you have any?

Homemade chicken and spinach soup. I made it last night, and it is fab. =-)

I need a Barley soup recipe. Care to share if you have any?
2 tablespoons oil, divided
1 tablespoon butter
4 ounces white button mushrooms
4 ounces baby portabella mushrooms
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 carrot, diced
1 stalk celery, diced( I never use this because I hate it)
1(14ounce)can beef broth
2 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup barley(not quick cooking)
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper

Slice or quarter mushrooms into about 1 inch pieces.
Heat 1 T. oil and butter in soup pot over medium high heat. Add mushrooms and saute until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic, saute for 30 seconds and remove from heat to a bowl and reserve.
Heat remaining tablespoon of oil in same pot over medium high heat. Add onion, carrot and celery and saute until softened, about 3 minutes.
Add broth, water and barley. Heat to a low boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
Add mushrooms and worcestershire sauce, and simmer partially covered (with the lid slightly off) 20 minutes more. Let stand 5-10 mins and serve.

You can't get away with just sayin this; YOU gotta post the recipe. :)
easy peasey girlie. This is part of my HEALTHY, 15 minutes or less, 5 ingredients or less recipes(well, this one actually has 6 not counting salt and pepper)! I should write a book!

1 lb. cubed chicken breast, salt and pepper it, sear it and then cook it through (or you can buy the frozen pre cooked chicken)

1 can cream of chicken soup (low fat, low salt)

10 oz of chicken broth

9 oz of refrigerated cheese tortellini

1 box frozen spinach (thaw it in the microwave)

2 cups fat free milk

1 T of thyme

Basically, just make sure your chicken is cooked trhough. You cook the tortellini in the chicken broth instead of water (it only takes 2 minutes to cook). Dont drain the broth off the tortellini. Dump the chicken and the rest of the ingredients in with the tortellini and simmer it until it is heated through. It is super easy and super healthy.

10 oz baked chicken breast w \ lemon pepper

steamed vegetables.

slice of whole grain bread

crystal light lemonade

I have the calorie /protein/carbs/fat breakdown at home. I think, offhand, it has under 300 cal per 1 cup serving. It isn't bad at all, as far as numbers go. 9 oz of tortellini is only half of a package and it makes a BIG pot of soup, so you are only getting like 1.5 oz of tortellini per serving. I can bring it with me tomorrow.

If you want a really super recipe, I will post one tommorrow that is chicken, sun dried tomatos, cannellini beans and rosemary. I'm forgetting one of the ingredients, so I will tell you tomorrow. The nutrition stats on it are great and it is very filling/satisfying.

I  my needler thing. You can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond. Very useful kitchen tool for us carnivores.

You can enjoy cheaper cuts of meat using one of those.

Broccoli steamed with garlic. We always do it Chinese style no matter what.

Also,
Boneless skinless Grilled Chicken Breasts

My kids eat all of this stuff now and they enjoy it too.

Sweet taters are good for you. Why have you avoided them?I love to slice them thin, spray a lil extra virgin olive oil on 'em and bake them in the oven. Yum. The are better than real French Fries IMO.

Good luck on the tofu noodles. I can't gag tofu for love nor money.lol

i have not avoided them, i just have nuked them all winter instead of making the fries (bake) or grilling them. seemed summery to me i guess. lol.

yeah, i have all these tofu noodles and i'm not sure that i'm going to be able to eat them.

everyone i've spoken to liked them, but the way they came packaged grossed me out (in a clear bag , in liquid)

that looks a lot like my meals. When it's just me and my kids it's very simple.

Sure beats a Flintstone vitamin, a protein shake and a spoon full of peanut butter though, lol!

I said fuck it and now I am eating the meal I made for ever one. It looked and smalled way to good. Its not that unhealthy any way. OMG is this the bomb!!!!

Its a cheap investment to. Like 30 dolors.

I'm going to a bar a friend of mine is guest bartending at, so I'll probably cheat and have bar food. Maybe one of their awesome burgers.

You hold it like a stamp pad. When you press it down on the meat 1000 tiny little needles pop out and poke threw the meat. It brakes up the muscle fibers of even the toughest cuts of meat.

Just grilled up 4 lbs of chicken on the foremand and made another 2lbs of ground sirloin. Im good for 2 days...god I hate this crap

Yep it was a great meal, so was the strawberry shortcake to follow..Oh no, did I forget to mention that it tasted awesome?! Well excuse the big bad wife for being the asshole of the house yet still forgetting to give out compliments when not spoken to....Shame on me
