Diet question

Hi Ladies.
I’ve been noticing many women & men asking about your diets. Has anyone ever made a basic post about clean foods, frequency of eating etc. for the ladies? Maybe it could be part of the recommended newbe reading along with the Warlobo classics.

OK. I can live with that.
I just hate to see many of you repeat the basic "rules" of eating in each newbe thread.

:)

I am with you Kel.....hard to know what is good carbs and bad carbs. Wish I would of payed better attention to everyones posts on diets :(

This has been my diet today : egg whites and oatmeal ( plain) for breakfast.

Around 10 : boiled chicken, brown rice and white black eye peas ( I am in the south and need me peas :)

At noon : protein bar

At 3 : Made up a protein shake, and drank half.

At 4 : A repeat of 10 :)

Now I am off to the gym, and will eat some more chicken when I get back, plus the other half of my shake.

I really need help on the vegetable part.......I know carrots have sugar, but is that ok in moderation?? I love all veggies.....and fruits--- good natural sources of sugar??? I am a dingy in this field......and already bored by my bland diet.

I know I can spice up the oatmeal with some cinnamin...... just need to get crafty with the spicing :)

Going to get my bodyfat measured this evening--hope it is a pleasing number, to get me even more motivated to stick to a clean diet :)

I know these might be stupid questions but...

1. What are some suggestions for good fat foods?

2. I am trying to decrease my carbs and find it difficult to do seeing everything has carbs. I already eat alot of chicken and am getting bored with that. Any other suggestions on things to eat that do not have alot of carbs.

Basically I am getting bored of eating the same thing. For example, chicken, egg whites, wild rice etc. I really am trying to work on reducing my carb intake and increase protein. Oh yeah and I don't like any seafood.

Thanks.

THanx Spatts for the insight in to some new bfast choices.

I had my coffee this morning with the Equal sweetner and no fat creamer....not very satisfying--- but an aquired taste I suppose.

Am trying now to wolf down some oat pancakes.....not to bad but like eating friggin cardboard---taste so dry.

But without so many carbs, this last week, I feel like I am not so bloated feeling--all day :)

The joys of learning and eating right ;)

Some ideas...ground turkey breasts on a Foreman grill...lean red meat..like sirloin...tuna w/ mustard... or a lil bit of mayo..or even plain:)...fish....of course chicken....whey shakes....bars......you just have to play around w/ different spices and try new stuff. Salsa is good w/ just about anything! Veggies are great and help keep ya regular...I eat a lot of green beans and broccoli...salads...tomatos...Carbs really depend on when you take them and what your individual goals are as far as dieting or just putting on some mass.

And everyone is different...some may be carb sensitive and have to really watch intake...others may not have this problem. Oatmeal is my fav w/ some sweet-n-low and cinnamon!!! Sweet potatos also good w/ the sweetner and cinnamon as well..tastes like pie...rice.....veggies...basically stay away from the simple sugars...I take in bananas occasionally and I usually eat 1/2 grapefruit every morning or a few strawberries..but I only do this in morning when dieting. Nothing exciting really...you have to remember you are eating to FUEL your body not merely for enjoyment or entertainment....notice how society focuses on that and how food is the center of all parties...or activities??? and we wonder why we are so overweight and out of shape.....hmmmmmm

Food has a lot of social connection as well as emotional connection so it is very hard to just make it a necessary part of life and not something you actually try to enjoy.... (like this is really a bad thing.... but it would make dieting a lot easier).

I can go weeks at a time eating the same thing (variations of meals, etc. but same content) with absolutely no interest except getting the necessary fuel I need for more efficient work outs, fat processing, etc. But then one day, for some reason, I just can't take it anymore. Can't look at another chicken, ready to launch Dr. Udo out the window, can't even digest broccoli without aromatically announcing it to the world -- then in steps that evil urge to not just stand in line at Dairy Queen, but to actually set up camp underneath their frozen ice cream dispenser within arms reach of the chocolate sauce. Then the extreme behavior steps in -- just as being able to eat the same menu for weeks at a time seems "extreme" the need for something completely "bad" exists in the same extreme manner.

Damn, maybe we should locate a behavior specialist to add to our arsenal of experts here. We could offer diet behavior therapy!

tuna

everyones favourite food??:D i know it gets boring...but I have discovered the flavoured tunas...they are really good! Jusr read the label - makes sure no added sugar, oil etc. My favourite is lemon, herb and garlic. Its still tuna...but at least it makes your taste buds think they are getting a treat.

yay...
:)
