So in the last week, my dad was diagnosed with an advanced stage of Huntingtons. I watched my exs son die on Tuesday. Closest thing to a child I've had. Sunday my friend Ash came over to borrow my truck to help her mom move or something. Mid sentence I seized up and went limp. Turned blue and had no pulse for about 5 minutes.

I came to and there were about 10 cops, emts, and firemen surrounding me. Wires and electrodes hooked to my wrists, ankles, chest, and head. Came to just before they were gonna transport me. Docs think it was a stress induced heart attack. I'm fucking 37 yrs old.

Vitals and all that shit was good. I couldn't stand for a few hrs after and can't for long periods now. Have my exs son Jacks funeral tomorrow to boot.

Just thought I'd share. Not to many people to talk to. I need a vacation like no other. Rant/whine over.

Dude, I am very sorry to hear all this...Jesus when it rains it pours..if you need someone to talk to big guy, I'm here. I known you for a long time on here..hope you are doing as well as can be expected....that's a lot of shit to deal with, I don't think I could cope with it.

Find a good church and just go sit and listen. I don't know if you're religious or not but it's helped me tremendously with some stress in the last year

He had been smoking that K2 shit. Had a seizure. Lasted for 8 hrs befofe they could chemically induce a coma to stop it. ICU for 6 days. Then his body gave out. Organs failed. They tried to revive him for 45 mins before his mom had to make the call to stop. She never left his side for 6 days. She's a wreck. I sat with him for a long time after. Talking to him. Trying to make amends. He did nothing more than the same shit most of us did when we were 19. R.I.P. Jackie.

Refused to go. Went to doc the day after. Vitals check out. Fuggin stress. Got the exs sons funeral in a couple hours. That should be fun.

mine stops half a dozen or so times a day, for 10 seconds or so at a time, from april 1 through april 15...too much stress, too much caffeine, k-n-o-t enough sleep...irregular heart beat, then silence, feeling of building pressure inside my head, narrowing of field of vision then, boom...it starts beating again...happens a few times and then i lean back in my chair and fall dead ass asleep for 15 or 20 minutes...it's usually working ok again when i wake up.

That's a pause. HR is claiming arrest. Btw, a 10 sec pause is too long...
 
After watching my father go through 3 hospitalizations with heart issues in the last few months, I don't know why anyone would not take it seriously and not do all you can do to diagnose, treat, prevent the problem. When you drop dead, it's too late.
 
My old man ignored his medical issues for a long time. He had a silent heart attack caused by his kidney disease in his bed the morning of my wedding and refused to go to the hospital until after the reception, then he checked himself out as soon as the doctor said he couldn't forcibly keep him anymore. He dropped dead in his own kitchen exactly 4 weeks later.

Sounds like you need a pacemaker, for real. One of these times, your heart could stop and never start again. You'll fall asleep and not wake up rob.

irregular heartbeats are a lovely, family genetic trait...however, the stopping thing is kind of uncommon...only happens under extreme circumstances though (after a month of only a couple hours of sleep a night and too much caffeine, etc.), other than that, it's never an issue (hasn't happened once since april 15)...what i really need to do is get my self organized such that i get more sleep during tax season...i'm working on it...hired someone, partnered up with another guy, going to hire another full-time employee by september. but, it is the oddest feeling...i won't miss it if it never happens again.

you know what's really weird? if after the first couple times that it happens, i get up and go to the gym and do 20 mins on the rowing machine, it goes away and generally doesn't come back until the next day...odd.

I've been taking migraine medicine for about 2 weeks. Zwhit recommended I get my BP checked. Might as well do that.
