I just finished reading the latest muscle & fitness that had the results from the Arnold weekend (yeah..a little outa the loop and late here...I've been busy). Anyway, I got the impression that they want the women bodybuilders to be smaller?! WTF??!! Isn't the point to build the biggest, most symmetrical form you can? It sounds like they were oversizing the fitness and figure girls so much that they wanted them smaller (ie...more femminine)

Someone correct me if I misunderstood, but I'm right pissed about that if it's true.

not when women look more like shaved gorillas.....it becomes a money issue of non-marketability

official deal is 20% smaller/softer

Its true - about 5 yrs ago women's BB started looking ALOT more like men's BB. Given that women's sports are skewed by the need to be "feminine", regardless of what the sport is about, the judging and the goals of FBB have always had a subjective slant to them. As the extreme nature of the sport emerged, we saw the creation of the "Figure" category and that is startign to grow wildly as women's BB continues to shrink.

I agree tho - if you take these women and tell them to be 20% softer, frankly they just look fat, given the mass that they are cartign around as part of BB. But the reality of this is that you are still goign to see women jacked to shit and lean, but just not as crazy big as they were. There is still going to be a lot of inconsistency in judging while some judges claim they are basing their calls on the 20% softer thing, but others will ignore it and say those who followed that new ruling are too soft, openign up the judging for other subjective or political leanings.

I dunno. Honestly I think you are going to see Figure start getting more extreme in its look but just not as hyuge as FBB.
