DB Shoulder Press - a question

Liberator

New member
Is it bad for the shoulders to go down as far as possible when doing DB Shoulder press?

I seem to be the only guy in my gym doing it, subsequently my delts are one of the biggest there although I wouldnt say I was the strongest

I see alot of guys stopping around ear level or where there elbow and shoulder are parallel, I initially thought they were just pussies and were doing it so they could lift more weight

Arnies book says as low as possible which is what I do and I admit I get great gains doing it this way, maybe not in strength but definately in size

bring d/b's down to where your elbow are about parallel, when you are using a barbell it's the same, bring the bar about to where the bottom of your hair line ends......no need to go any deeper.

i go down to where it is even with my shoulders... i'd say a lot of people have strained rotator cuffs without getting them checked out and it limits their mobility... hurt mine on chest day :( but getting better.
