dairy and water retention

i've been through waves of eating dairy and not eating dairy... can't say i notice TOO much of a difference in water retension.

I think the reason it seems that dairy makes you retain water is bc people always eat a lot of it when they are bulking so of course they are holding water. I know it has no place in a precontest diet but if your goal is fat loss I think u can get away with a little bit of dairy as long as you maintain a caloric deficit.

Yes it makes you hold water, however do NOT exclude it from a preconest diet until the last couple of weeks. Water retention is only an issue at the end. Dairy products have been provent to aid in fat loss. The effect is more pronounced in women though. Eating 2-3 servings of dairy a day doubled the weight loss of women who ate it, verses the control group who ate similar diets and calories, but were not allowed to eat dairy. In men it only increased fat loss by roughly 30%.

I'm eating cheese everyday, and still having my sodium intake a bit too high, but have cut it in half. Still a bit puffy. Up to 230 though. Gained 30 ibs on a high cal CKD, guess the proves one can gain weight on one rapidly. Anywho, I need to drop my sodium a bit, and going to keep my carbs under 20 grams for awhile, reduce the size of my carbups, and see if that helps a bit. My gains will slow down some anyways from this point. Muscle gains always come in bursts, then slow down, regardless of if one is natural or enhanced.

water retension is such a temporary thing, it should not be worried about unless preparing for competition. LoL, whenever I'm going to the river, I just rely on the alcohol and coffee in the morning to drop pretty much all of my water.
