Yes you're right, I just meant to consume AT LEAST a gram for every lb. I'd say keep the protein as high as possible. But keeping protein intake at, say 1.5 gr per lb. and more gets more and more difficult the more you drop your cals. When your on a bulker you've got a lot of leeway to eat a dumpload of protein...its not too difficult to eat up to 3-400 grams a day. But when your eating 2 k cals a day its not quite that easy. Like trying to squeeze a dime out of a nickel.
I'm far from an expert on suitable pre-contest diets though, so take this with a grain of salt.
