Cung Le Finally Enters MMA

I have seen him fight in K-1 and he kicks ass.
He fought in San Jose, CA for Strikeforce on the undercard to Frank Shamrock vs Gracie.

This will answer the question of where are the Chinese MMA fighters!

I have to admit I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to CMA; other than mainstream media, I really have no knowledge. I've spent the last hour surfing video of San Shou fighting (which doesn't make me an expert by any means, just explaining my viewpoint), and I'm fairly impressed. For the most part, the fighters look very tight with excellent technical skills, hands and feet. It seems the front leg side kick is a favorite, and I haven't seen that used in a full contact match before. I really like the idea of allowing throws---that totally changes how a fighter would use the clinch.

It's too bad there aren't many schools teaching San Shou (is San Shou an actual style?) because I'd be right there.

MIke :

San Shou means "Free Hands" and is the Sparring ruleset common to pretty much ALL Chinese Martial Arts .

Thats actually why I get on such Tirades a lot of the time , because San Shou Fighters come from Tai Chi , Wing Chun , CLF , whatever . Many of the best are from Wushu gyms . This is what the Application of Chinese Martial Science looks like .

And it always has , for that matter .

Ah ha, thank you for the clarification---I thought someone had mentioned at one point that San Shou wasn't actually a style. Regardless, I was/am highly impressed by Cung Le and the other fighter I watched in the San Shou rules fights.
