Creatine & Dandelion root ? Foolish ?

cell volume maximizers (creatine) and effects with water-loss agents (dandelion root) (post #1)

Hi,

Was wondering if using a duiretic like Dandelion root will pull water out of creatine loaded muscle cells? From my understanding, once glycogen has entered a muscle cell, it doesn't "leak" back out into the bloodstream. Do Creatine and Glutimate exhibit the same behavior?

I recently reduced my bf% a few % but feel like I'm retaining a lot of sub-c water. When I press my fingernail into my thumb pad, the depression remains for 30-60 seconds, sometimes longer. This indicates water retention. Right? So, I've been trying to lose the water through various means. Keto doesn't seem to help. I took a Chroma Slim Water Pill and broke out in hives, so I'm giving the Dandelion root a shot. I would use l-dex, but it's just a bit pricey at this time, maybe later if this doesn't work.

Now, would using creatine at this point be a waste? Would the duiretic work in an opposing mechanism to the creatine and in essence, negate the benefits?

I'll bump it for you for more answers.

I would say that you are kind of defeating the reason for taking creatine by combining the two. By useing a duiretic your going to take out all of the water the creatine is storing. If worried about it, why not just get off the creatine for awhile. The keto diet will only deplete carbs which in return burn off more fat. Nothing to co with water.

Taking creatine and dandelion is sort of like people that stack creatine and ECA. They are thinking that maybe they can build some size/strength and get leaner at the same time. That would work if you were dealing with drugs, but not OTC substances. Creatine mainly works as a cell volumizer because it pushes more water into your cells, so if your taking a duiretic along with it your going to be flushing that water back out(or at least some of it). If your worried about bloating or something then I would just lower my dose or watch my sodium/carb intake. So the answer to your question is that you would probably be wasting your money stacking the two, but there are other things you could look into. Do a search for some info about vitamin B-6, you might want to look into trying that.

Under the skin water and Muscle volumed water the same?

That's strange. I always thought there is a difference between under the skin water (subcuteous) and muscle water. I thought that Creatine made your MUSCLES look fuller and NOT your belly.
My problem is water under the skin. Mainly in the abdominal area (although I am off cycle for quite long and at 9% bf).
