Cooking

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times and I can never get it right so I figure I'd ask here.

When you cook a chicken breast, and lets say its 6oz precooked, when you are writing down the chicken breast you ate, do you consider it to be that you ate a 6oz piece of chicken or do you take the value of weight after its done cooking which would be less.

overthinking it bro. stay consistent and use the pre-cooked weight. the post-cooked weight can vary a bit depending on such factors as how long u cook it.

Major league over thinking. Everything in moderation. I managed to over think myself out of dieting twice a few years ago because I was so hung up on certain things I said "Ah screw it, I can't get it right so better off not doing it."

What are you doing, any who? Trying to lose some weight or add on?

Trying to cut, down to 232 lbs from 292, and I'm trying to eat healthy. I lost all my weight doing just cardio and then I started to plateau for 3 weeks of no loss, since then I cleaned up my diet more and I started to lift 4 days a week and I'm starting to lose again. Dunno if it's the food, the lifting, or both, but either way I'm going to continue rocking and trying to lose about another 20-25 lbs and bring my bf% to like 12-14% (I'm at 20% now).

I was just reading about ways to cook chicken breast w/o making them very dry and a lot of things I have read mention brining. Which is basically throwing the chicken in the water with water and salt, but for a cutting diet will this "ruin" the chicken lol. I don't want to eat something if its going to be loaded with sodium and shit, I just wanna eat clean

You need sodium in your diet so just don't try and take it all out. I need quite a bit due to how much I sweat so much from my job. If I'm wrong someone please correct me, but can't you just piss out sodium from drinking enough water? I always understood that it will bloat you, and if you were having too much you just could cut some more of it out and you would piss the excess away.

Good luck on your journey on weight loss, too by the way. I went from 250 or 255 to 178. Currently back on my route to losing weight again due to certain interventions in real life, lack of money and all that jazz.
