COMPUTER PEEPS: FINALLY went wireless; how do i encrypt it?

i FINALLY Ditched the Dial up for high(er) speed internet service at home, bought a linkysys wireless router....but nothing in the instructions on how to encrypt my wireless signal.

could someone please give me step by step instructions in how to do so, using as many one syllable words as possibe? computer challenged i beeeeez..

I'd use WEP-shared key access if possible with 128-bit OR BETTER encryption.

the kid at Best Buy told me there wouldn't be any instructions on how to encrypt and password enable the system....was pushing me hard to take advantage of their encryption service for $129.95.........lil' bastid...
