Keep telling your self that...

Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"At about 9:35 a.m., using his mother's Bushmaster XM-15 rifle, Lanza shot his way through a locked glass door at the front of the school.[19][20] He was wearing black military-style gear, including a bulletproof vest and mask.[21][22] Some of those present reported that initial shots were heard on the school intercom system, which was being used for morning announcements."

Connecticut Shooter Adam Lanza's Guns Were Registered To Mother Nancy Lanza: Official

The Denver Post Online - Columbine - Tragedy and Recovery

"The guns of Columbine were old and new. They were manufactured in three states, promoted by catalog and telemarketer, sold at small gun stores and large gun shows. But in the end, all four were sold anonymously to teenagers, no questions asked, no background checks, no purchase forms, no signatures.
Klebold's TEC-DC9 was a heavy, awkward handgun built to fire dozens of bullets in seconds, advertised as fingerprint-resistant and sold, according to one criminal-justice expert, to people with a remarkable propensity for killing."

I said legally owned.

In both instances you referenced, the shooters were all too young to legally buy and own a firearm.

The firearm Lanza used was illegal in the state with the mags he had attatched, and the Columbine shooters used scatterguns, which are against federal law to own, pipe bombs, speaks for itsself, and assault rifles illegally purched.

The problem is not with the fact of allowing gun ownership, it is with the parents in one case and illegal back door sales in the other.

I grew up with my father owning a rifle on his farm and my brother had a pelat and a bb gun. I still see no need and I live in the largest city in Canada. I have been a victim of crime here as well at most I got bear spray carried it for a few years and then got over it.
