No woodworking skills here. I hire that done to. Do they need alot of work. And what kind of return do you think you will get after taxes and insurance? I am just wondering in comparison to my rental property in Texas.

Just curious what area of S. Florida, how much, and how you found them. I am looking into buying a couple of townshouses in S Florida and would appreciate some insight.

Ft Lauderdale here.... No, they don't need any work on them. . that was just a crack regarding my recent contractor nightmare. It was from the settlement I got that I purchased these two. So, sort of an inside joke.

They were $51K a piece after taxes. 4 miles from the beach. Very nice.

In comparsion, the two condos I bought when I first moved here 2.5 years ago, they were $60K a piece and needed work. This is when the market was kind of weak, before the real estate boom. The only reason they were more expensive than these was because they are on the Intercoastal. I combined those two units into one large unit. If I had bought these two condos (recent ones) back then.. I would have paid about $29K for them. So they have gone up despite a weak economy.

Sweet! Gimme a free condo then!

awesome!

at least you bought something with your settlement money that will appreciate in value. Hopefully that will make up for all the bullshit you went through to get your house done.

I know a contractor who would have gone out and bought a new Caddy with that money.

I am looking into Ft. Lauderdale as well. I love that place. These are one bedroom condos I am assuming b/c 51k seems like a great price for being so close to the beach. How did you find them, realitor or online? Also, do they rent out quickly?
