Dude I am really confused by your wife. You seem to have your body/fitness stuff along the right lines. She's got lots of worries about being a certain "way" that I think she "feels like" she's supposed to be. If you asked me what my body measurements were I'd start out by telling you that I have a 14.5" bicep that pumps to 15.25". I also bought a set of boobs so that I'm a 36D. My waist, thighs, and the rest of it are in constant flux. My weight has not altered more than 2 lbs in the last 3 months but my bodyfat has gone from 22% to below 15% in that time. I expect to go down another 6-7% bf and I can't even guess how much weight in order to compete.
If anyone tells me my measurements are off, a knee to the groin will solve the problem.
If your wife has any interest in getting a handle on who / what she really is and being comfortable with it and arriving at it in a healthy & confident way, I'd actually tell you that she should get on the boards and lets get her 'in the right way'!
If she wants to lose 1" of size on her waist, it is goign to come off proportionally all around her body, and depending on how she carries her weight, it may come off her waist last. That's just life. But a tweak in her diet / training will get better results than popping even OTC thermos. Don't get her focused on that cuz there's no miracle drug that does it.
