Real world results - personally I hate the stuff. First experience was a desperation move on the part of my trainer to drop some bf before a comp- it did some good but not enough. Didnt' measure results. Other times I 've tried it, 2 weeks on, 2 off , alternating w/ ECA, starting at 1-2 pills & increasing each day until I can't take it then backing off, maintaining sub-axiety level of jitters for the duration. Nothing noticeable that ECA doesn't do.
Also dosage depends on the brand - Oxyflux is underdosed so you'll probably end up taking more than you would expect. Spiropent is more accurately dosed & 1-2 will set you buzzing.
Is it good for a newbie? Depends on what your goals are and what your current diet & training look like. Do you use ECA right now? Just because its a "controlled substance" (i.e. not OTC) does not mean its a magic pill. Its usually the first entry point for a newbie into the world of "controlled substances" and expectations are high. The magic is in your diet. If its not getting the results you want, post it and lets see if we can make some adjustments to kick start some results. Clen shows better results, as will most fat burners, when you are leaner, somethign around 15% or less. 15%+, just go diet + training + cardio, and consider ECA or NYC + yohimburn and some persistance.
