I enjoyed this as simply a quality movie but I almost always like DeNiro movies. He is one of the great actors in my book. He plays a detective who has a mess for a life. Left me wondering though...doesn't DeNiro always play a role where his life is screwed up? I wonder what his life is like in real life.
Why do almost all of our leading men play the role of a loner with a jacked up personal life? When has one of them kissed the wife and hugged the kids before leaving for a great 9-5 job with lots of happy, well adjusted co-workers?
