I don't know that Gruden is much of a QB developer.... Mostly he seems to buy the peices he needs. Also, he might throw well, and be decently quick, but I think the mental skills would be what he needs for the next level... see Jake Plummer....

3 thigs Becoming,

#1) Gruden is a top Offensive Mind in the NFL..PERIOD!!
Now, this allows me to make the observation that for a rookie QB of Simms caliber...this is ideal. You start out playing for someone who understands the game, the tactics, and approaches a QB has to take to be successful. Please remeber, what had Rich Gannon done before Gruden ? NOT A DAMN THING... Now Gruden did not make Gannon Great, Grudens understanding of the NFL and Offensive Schemes put Gannon in a position to be successful. Also dont think for a minute if Gruden was with the Raiders last year they would not have been Super Bowl Champs. The Bucs would not have been to the Super Bowl let alone win without Gruden. He is a Briliant offensive mind who knows how to play to his players strengths and attack the opponets weaknesses.

#2) Gruden's schemes, tactics, and gameplanning will help with the mental development of Chris Simms. More so then say a Chan Gailey or some lame-ass offensive mind. Which inturn will help with understdg his reads & decision making better. This is Ideal situation for Simms.

#3) Plummer has had not tools, a perfect example of a good QB who fell into a system which did not fit with his instincts and abilities. Not to mention the worst offensive and defensive coordinators in history...
THE CARDINALS AS A WHOLE SUCK!
I think this situation will better suit Plummer - going to Denver. With??? SHANNAHAN (sp?) a goood QB Coach with Brilliant Schemes on Offense...

So, Becoming, thanks for perfectly illustarting my points with excellent an example like Jake PLummer.
