Chinese Food

maybe a dumb question but could someone explain to me if chinese food is in fact bad for you? if so that really sucks i love me some general tso's chicken ..

There's a ton of sugar and fat in chinese food and general tso - it's breaded and deep fried then drowned in a sugar sauce.

Just depends on what you eat exactly I think. I went to a chinese buffet (it was a good one, half the customers were asians). . . and ate baked teriyaki Chicken, baked salmon, roast beef, bbq squid, lots of mussels, lots of shrimp, a few fried shrimp even, ah I forget what it was there was some more fish in there somewhere, snow crab, baked crab meat...etc. . . none of that stuff is too bad, just lots of protein.

And asian style foods can be healthy so long as it's brown rice and vegetables and meat, and light on the sugar sauce =)

alot of sugars, salts and no protein in most chinese food. i used to work at one and would always try not to eat at work.

make your own general tsos..you can get reduced sugar sauce, cook the chicken a healthier way, etc. still not that great for you, but a hell of a lot better then chinese take out.

otherwise, get the chicken grilled without oil with brocolli ;x

IF you need to get fast food a fast chinese restaurant, you can always just ask them for steamed chicken with brown rice, maybe get a little a brown sauce on the side, holler

REAL, authentic Chinese food is wonderful health food compared to the typical US diet.

brown rice, steamed in season veggies, portions of steamed or stir-fried protein, tofu, ect. They don't eat dessert and they drink green tea and room temperature water.

Kind of boring but totally healthy!

It's the Americanized Chinese food you have to watch! All that fried stuff and waayyy too much sugary sauces. My in-laws make fun of the stuff Americans call Chinese food.

This is what I have them do. Steamed shrimp or chicken. I'm just wondering how healthy the chicken is that they use.

Just make sure you have a fried banana and coconut ice cream before you call it quits!
