I'm looking for some ideas as to what to put on steaks before grilling.

I mean besides garlic, salt and pepper. There's gotta be something in my spice rack that'll give it something extra.

Do you think he can give me a good recipe for meet lofe?

Allright Bro's,

The best steak marinade in the world (My opinion) is called Chiavetta's BarBQ Marinade. It is seen everywhere in the Western new York area. If you do not live in that area, you can order some on line and have it shipped. I have my parents bring me bottles of the stuff when they come out to visit.

Here is my turkey meat loaf recipe. Keeo in mind, I use the leanest turkey I can find. So you have to take measures so it will not dry out.

1-3 lbs of ground turkey
1-2 small cans of mushrooms (Use canned mushrooms, not fresh)
1 small onion
1-2 cloves of garlic
1/2 a roasted green pepper (Roast the pepper and remove the skin)
1/2 roasted red pepper (Roast the pepper and remove the skin)
1/2 to 1 cup of oatmeal
1-2 eggs
Parmasian cheese to taste
1-can of stewed tomatos
1/2 to one table spoon of Italian seasoning

Roast the peppers and remove the skins. Dice up all your vegtables. If you wanted to, you can carmalize your onions. The reason I use canned mushrooms is because they have been soaking in water and will help keep the meat loaf moist. Mix all of your ingreedients together OTHER THAN THE STEWED TOMATOS.

Open your can of tomatos and take out four big chunkc of tomatos and dice them up. Add them to the meat loaf mixture. The rest of the stewed tomatos and juice in the can put in a non-stick skillet and cook on medium high heat until it reduces by half. This will form a thick paste.

Form your meat loaf BUT DO NOT COOK IT IN A PAN. Use a flat pan to cook your meat loaf. That way, the entire outside gets crispy, not just the ends. Also, if there is any fat, it will drain away and your meat loaf will not soak in it while it cooks.

For the last five minutes, add the stewed tomato paste you made and sprinkle with parmasian cheese. This is an awesome recipe.

All of the vegtables you use will give up their water while cooking, but the leat loaf will not dry out because you used oatmeal as a filler. The oatmeal will soak up the liquid and keep everything moist. You won't be able to see ot taste the oatmeal either. If you make this, let me know how it turns out for you.

bump for steak info

You can get some fat free italian dressing and marinate the steak (Or chicken) in it and then grill it up.

Mince some cilantro and onions up and place them in a zip-top bag. Add in 1/2 cup of tiquilia and cut op two limes. Juice the limes, and add the sliced limes. Put your steak in the bag and marinate for a few hours. Now you have tequila lime steak. This also works with chicken.

One of my favorite recipes is this. It is very simple. Use your zip-top bag and marinate your steak in some Whiskey (I use Jack Daniels). This has a great flavor when you grill it.

If you want lemon chicken or orange chicken, all you have to do is marinate your chicken in lemon juice or orange juice for a few hours.

I hope this helps you all.

I think that the best idea. There is a billion steak recipes on the net,in books, and just about every where you look. Starting out with the basics of cooking and moving on from there. Teaching people how to come up with there own recipes to fit there own taste is the best thing you can do for them. Teaching them methods of cooking and what each one brings to the table,Different ingredents and how they affect taste and texture, cuts of meat and how the differ, how to cut and prepare for best outcome, and things like this are what people should learn. :)

Yup. Go to a good butcher, get quality meat, simple seasoning, and cook it over a good wood fire. There's a reason everything tastes better when you're camping.
