Cheapest place to buy protein powder?

I buy a weight gainer/protein powder called Nlarge2 in 10lbs for about 36 dollars online at muscledepot.com. Is there anything better or cheaper that is of decent quality?

Well do you want a protein powder or a weight gainer? For a straight protein powder, you can get a 5 lb. tub of Sportpharma brand at Sam's club for like $19. Or you can buy Optimum Nutrition whey (5lb. tub) for like $25 online at betterbodz.com.

www.bodybuilding.com has some very good prices it's worth the time to browse the site. They also sell some protein factory items for less than proteing factory does. But that shoulldn't a surprise. If you undercut your dealers they wont continue to distribute your product. At the end you get what you pay for.

If you are looking specifically for a protein powder Kian has recommened to me:

"Make sure the protein supplement you are using PWO is a high quality source and is infact a protein supplement and not a weight gainer. Try to put your money towards any of the following sources:
Bioactive Whey Fraction,
Cross Flow Microfiltration Whey Isolate,
Ion-exchanged Whey Isolate, Whey Isolate. (again, read the labels closely)"

if you are looking at weight gainers ive personally been doing quite a bit of research on them.

the nlarge2 strawberry ( http://www.prolab.com/RETAIL/produc...oduct_id=1000 ) has:
per shake 600cals/ 87g carbs/52g protein/28g sugars

while the cals are signiicantly less per shake in the nlarge 2 than the mammoth2500 shake (mammoth2500 has a BEAST 970cals per shake) the carbs are also much less (65g's less) and sugars are suspiciously not mentioned on the mammoth2500 website

http://www.interactivenutrition.com...mammoth2500.php

so there is a significant diference betwen the weight gainers and protein powder. use the protein powder post immedialy post work out with some carbs like a sweet potato. and carb load before the workout as well, with some protein beforehand also a good idea for continual release.

im still learning myself but hopefully that helps
peace

Weight gainers aren't really necessary as you can add as much malto/dextrose as you want to your protein source. For general use Milk Isolate is best IMO and post workout or "around" your workout use whey isolate. Buying bulk powder and making your own "weight gainer" would probably end up being cheaper anyway.

E.A.S 100% Whey Protein Isolate 23g Protein, Concentrated BCAAs, 3g total carbs, sugars >1g. = 1 scoop. About 76 total, /2 = (about a month and a week of a shake w/ 2 scoops every day)
$27 at Sams Club =)
