I quit lifting for 10 years and started back last June. I've noticed some changes in behavior in the gym. First, when did it become "cool" to completely and intentionally drop your weights on the floor? I've seen this on deadlifts especially. Guys lift to the lockout and then just let go of the bar intentionally. In some cases ass holes try to "throw" the weight down extra hard. I don't expect people to lower it slowly to the point where there is no sound when it touches the ground, but stay with the bar and go down with it. Dropping the bar in a power lifting contest is grounds for red lights and a failed lift. Second change I've noticed is that men are wearing spandex that's sucked up where the sun doesn't shine. There's more but I'll save those for later. I haven't even started on this "cross fit" craze.
