cell phone all wet

my son's cell phone was in his pocket when i washed his coat today. he realized it After the cycle had finished. obviously it isnt working. is there anything to do to fix it? or are we fuckt?

If you dropped in some water and took out real quick and put a blow dryer too it you might be able to save it. If it went through an entire wash I would say it is toast. Sorry!

I remember my sister got hers wet and said something about removing the battery and putting the phone in an oven at low heat in a bag of dry (uncooked) rice. We're talking very low heat here -- you use the rice to absorb mosture as it bakes out of the phone.

Dial Tone's suggestion is right on, any electronics remove the power(bettery) Let dry using a blow dryer, that is a start to remove the moisture under those SMD's lay on a windowstill in sunlight for a few days.

Also may want to check and see if the battery is still good.

I once had one of those prepaid phones for kitten fish;s on the side got busted with it tossed it into the pool thinking the evidence would be destroyed crazy bitch fished it out blpw dried it and recovered every fuckin number dialed and recieved

completely disassemble it. anything that can be taken off, do it. lay all the parts out on a heater/radiator/etc and leave them there for 2-3 days. put it back together and it might work.


i fucked up my phone like this once, and it ended up working after doing all that. if you have insurance you are probably fucked though, since most won't cover water damage (no idea why.)
