I would stay away from celebrex/vioxx while on oral AS. Studies in mice have shown that these drugs prevent liver regeneration. The control group of mice regenerated their liver tissue normally after damage. The group of mice taking the cox2 inhibitors (celebrex/vioxx) were unable to regenerate their liver tissue. It makes you wonder what else is not healing properly while taking these drugs.

I did Celebrex with winny and got a nasty rash. I don't know if there was some interaction going on.

The liver problem alone would scare me away from taking the 2. Thanks for that info. Ill give some karma for that.

if you are allergic to sulfas, you may be allergic to celebrex/vioxx

I got great pain relief with celebrex while on winny, with no sides. As far as liver toxicity goes, I think the dose those mice were given was astronomical, and people would never take as great a dose proportionally. If you're worried about it, then keep your peace of mind and stay away from it, but I swear by it, and I know of at least one person with hepatitis who takes it.
