I'm sure this has been done before but I haven't seen any threads in a while and i'm curious as to everyone's opinion of cardio while "ON"...let me know what you do and why...

personally, i do 45 minutes per day 6x per week minimum off juice and especially while "ON"...i'm not a big fan of bloating/blowing up...i like the leaner look myself...

5'11 235lbs. 18% BF (abs are always my problem cuz of those damn carbs)

cardio training: all in the am, 6am to be exact, on an empty stomach
M-F
30 minutes eliptical trainer
15 minutes stair master
15-30 treadmill - medium jog at speed 5.5
i alternate between the treadmill and eliptical

Saturday
1 hour minimum - racquetball followed by stairmaster for 15 minutes

that is a shit load of cardio, you do all that and still have 18% bf?

i eat clean but i have 2 cheat days per week...them carbs man, they kill me...but i only started uping my cardio to this amount the last 3 months or so to get rid of that extra BF...b4 that, it was very minimal, like 20 min. maybe 2-3x per week

there you go, if you seriously want to burn that fat lose your 2 cheat days. imo, the two best forms of cardio, losing fat/getting fit/whatever-running in the am before breakgast followed by bag work later in the day, seriously, bag work is the shit, what other cardio are you increasing strength, endurance and flexibilty whilst burning off fat? it is a very intense form of cardio if you do it right.

It might be better to get the cheat days down to one cheat meal per week not 2 days. You could do a lot less cardio AND have better results. Post up your diet so we can help you better.

occasionally i'll sub the oatmeal for 3 eggs but other than that, the diet looks the same almost everyday except for my 2 cheats days

M/T/TH/F/Sunday
breakfast - oatmeal/banana/wheat bagel
snack - protein shake
lunch - grilled chicken (8oz)
snack - banana
dinner - grilled chicken or steak (8oz)
snack - protein shake

Wed.
breakfast - oatmeal/banana/wheat bagel
snack - protein shake
lunch - cheeseburger (93/7 lean meat)
snack - banana
dinner - grilled chicken or steak burrito (8oz)
snack - protein shake

Saturday
breakfast - oatmeal/banana/wheat bagel
snack - protein shake
lunch - 3 slices pepperoni pizza
snack - banana
dinner - buffalo grilled chicken (8oz)
snack - protein shake

Well you already know this but the pizza, cheesburger, burrito and buffalo chicken aren't helping. I would also drop the bagels. You might want to post this in the diet section for help. Personally, you need to get this cleaned up in order to drop BF. Diet is 80% of everything no matter how much cardio you're doing.

You also might want to look into Needto's cookbook for some ideas.

i know the diet isn't perfect but i also know it never will be either...my lifestyle is crazy with my jobs so eating as good as I do is a very big plus...but when compared, my snack foods aren't that bad...pizza and the cheese for the burrito yes...but cheeseburger is lean (93/7) and cooked on a foreman grill to release even more fat juices and my buffalo chicken is just grilled chicken with a little buffalo sauce to dip into for flavor...bagels are wheat and eaten in the morning so they get burned off pretty quick...

but going from almost 40% BF a few years back to 18% is a huge drop and success if I do say so myself...but i do appreciate all the info and help and im actually surprised that more people haven't said HELL NO to the cardio on the poll

i would imagine that is because the majority of people here know that it is a case of over all health rather than, fuck it i just want huge muscles.
going from 40% is a fantastic achievement, you should be damn proud of yourself. it is the last bit of weight that will always be a tricky little fucker to get rid of, but keep up the hard work, continue working on your diet and im sure you will get there. more power to ya bro.

man, all you have to do is go on 1500 calorie low carb restricted diet with cardio for a month and you'll be below 10% and not have to worry about it again. Then just eat like you do maintain the new bodyfat level.

Just dont eat carbs or alcohol for one month and touigh it out. The time will pass and you will be lean. It's easy, just have to convince yourself mentally. And if you use tren at the same time. Well, its guaranteed
