Canned veggies while cutting?

I was curious if canned spinach and asparagus are ok when cutting? THey are my two favorite veggies and it would hurt to go without em :D

to my knowledge the only drawbacks of most canned veggies are the high sodium..of course you can get the salt free ones on some veggies, but if you are going that route you'd be better off trying to get them fresh as they don't taste taht great..

Bleh!! Canned veggies taste yucky - frozen is just as inexpensive & tastes WAY better!!

^^ Agreed.

Lee, if taste is NOT that big of a deal, drain the liquid from the can & rewash the veggies one or two more times.

If by chance you were doing a show, a shoot or needed to get sub 10% bf & these were still IN your diet? I'd prolly tell you to cut out all processing, uneeded sodium, etc. (<-- being very generic here)

IMO, veggies like this are FINE for a normal healthy lifestyle, esp. while cutting. I prefer fresh but I have been using frozen green beans & mixed veggies because they keep longer. If you get to a point where you plateau, re-evaluate your 'clean' diet & adjust accordingly.

Oh and speaking of veggies, being that it's summer & transitioning into fall - now is usually the time that fresh veggies that are in an abundance are pretty darned cheap.....so stock up & freeze them....you'll know what is & isn't in it fo sho....

Green beans are nasty, at least plain they are. I know its a much better choice than peas, but peas are about the only green I can stomach.

If you like vegetables, then go for them raw. If you consume them canned or frozen then you lose nearly all of the nutritional value contained in the vegetables when they are fresh. Essentially, when you eat them canned or frozen, you are eating them just to eat them. So, you might as well get all the nutritional goodies they have to offer while you're at it.
