Canned Salmon vs. Tuna?

Hey guys, what's the difference between the canned tuna and canned salmon? Is one better than the other? THey both taste the same to me except the salmon cans are usually bigger.

salmon is usually a bit pricier. In terms of protein and fat, they're pretty identical, both high in EFA's :)

I normally eat canned tuna due to the abundance of it and being able to buy in bulk. I haven't bought into the mercury content of tuna, at least not yet

I still haven't tried the canned salmon yet, bump for taste experiences...?

Taste the same?!

Thats a big hell no. IMO salmon tastes 2X better than Tuna and is always worth buying instead. Try making Tuna salad with Salmon instead using Lite Mayo,Relish(w/o HFCS), Curry, Olive Oil, S&P, Boiled eggs and a touch of paprika. That is good stuff there.

there is more fat in salmon (but it is the "good" omega 3s, rich in EPA and DHA) than in tuna

Both have about the same protein (high content) and carbs (almost zero) profile

as for the taste, it is very personnal...

I like the taste of canned salomon over tuna. Be aware though, most canned salmon, except the boneless skinless versions which are expensive, contain bones and skin unlike tuna, similar to sardines.

What about sodium content?

both are high in sodium
You'd rather drain the can

But if you drink a lot of water it should not be a big issue
