It is all "public safety" crap. Instead of educating people, they just ban the substances, even though they still have a number of uses in the medical community. Research and evidence shows that they are not harmful if used correctly, but like many other things, the government would rather ban them and spend the money and resources on arresting and jailing people than the money that education would cost. That is because police action shows an "immideate effect" and looks good come election time.

take a look at some of the dumb questions people ask on here and some of the statements that are made, people are taking this stuff b4 they have a clue what they are doing, getting heart disease, dying, etc and it gets blamed on AAS, so even people who do use responsibly are punished. i mean look at how much it is getting hyped by the media, "it is so dangerous" how can something ur body produces, testosterone be dangerous, unless it is abused, but that never seems to get mentioned. i just cant stand all of the negative ads, like the one with the statue crumbling down, wtf is that, anyhow, just my opinion on the matter

I'll give u an example: Did u know that the drug estacy was legal upto the early 90's then it was banned. Does that mean before it was banned it wasn't bad? but now it is? same thing happened with ephedrine, andro, etc. As it's been said it's just some political bullshit so that somebody can get elected...

Sorry but this isn't a very intelligent question. People don't steal or rob so they can smoke marijuana and yet it is still legal. Public perception and misnomers about the drugs combined with governmental lobbiest are the reason these drugs are illegal if you ask me.

Lyle Alzado didn't help. That put the information out there about how "bad" steroids are for us. Then I think the huge backlash now is because it is considered a huge form of cheating in sports and the public/politicians can't stand that. Then they fall back on....but steroids cause all kinds of disease too. The problem is they think steroids are bad, the athletes take them to enhance performance, and kids do whatever athletes do. So basically it is an effort to protect kids and they will stop at no lengths to do that.

Three reasons.

1.It's an easy target. Policticians can come off as crusaders against something that most peple don't undertand, thus fear. (Anything with a needle conjurs up images of heroin addicts). To many, steroids ruined sports, killed Lyle Alzaerer, and drives teens to become rapists. It's reefer madness 2007.

2.Yes, drug companies don't want anyone working their side of the street. Of course if they were legal, there'd be less of a black market. This was proven with the end of Prohibition in 1933 but for some reason the morons in the government still can't grasp this concept.

3. Abuse. Everytime some idiot with muscles O.D's (usually on something other than steroids) it puts a black eye on the community. Everytime some clueless teen takes it and suffers consequences or some idiot uses the"steroid rage" card as a defense for being violent it puts the cause back more and more.

There are few spokesman for the responsible use of steroids. And for every one of them there are two dozen others telling newbies to do a gram of test a week and another dozen to agree.

I don't think it will change until HR T becomes more refined, understood and accepted as a health and cosmetic benefit. That's the only hope at a "first step."

i agree nelson, i think it should be kept away from kids based on all of the reading ive done on it, it is never monetioned how a.a s are prescribed to people for various health issues only the very negative effects, again not mentioned if abused. tv shows like the valentino chump, the man who's arms exploded sure as hell doesnt help
