Yes, platonic relationships can flourish between the sexes. I have a few guy friends and the thought of it being anything more than that doesn't happen by me. In general I think it's more difficult for the guys to keep it platonic.

In my life this has been true, in what I`ve seen around me as well.
 
I have 2 guy friends that I am close friends with....they are more "true" friends than the women I am supposedly friends with. My women "friends" let all this f'd up shit get in the way of our friendship -- jealousy, etc so I don't consider them true friends. For example, my one friend was great when I was single, but now that I'm married, she hardly talks to me. Like I can't do things with her w/o my hubby. The friendship has become so one-sided (my side) that I just don't bother to try anymore.

There will always be a certain amount of sexual feelings even if they are just friends. Maybe they never act on the feelings, but it depends on the people involved I guess.

My best friend right now is a female from the westside of Chicago. She's kind of tomboyish. But, I'm not even going to lie, I saw her today and she was looking too sexy.

Maybe a couple years down the line, we'll both decide that our friendship is so good that it would be perfect to be with one another and just get married. But, if that doesn't happen, we'll stay platonic no problem.

She's a good friend. No reason to ever ruin the friendship with rushing into anything. She has her men that she's sees and I have my women.

Male-female platonic relationships could be done. I do think me and her are a rare case though just because of how open with both are. But, look how people say we're just friends and wind up having sex.
 
I have one good girl friend that I can always talk to. She's fine, and I'd be up for sex if she was, but she's not and its cool with me. I help her with guys and she gives me advice with girls. We go out together and play off each other to reel in the guys she wants and the girls I want, and I do much better than I do when out with the guys. I think when girls see a girl and a guy she's alot more likley to think the guy is worth talking to. Its gets kind of fun when we get into it too. So yes guys and girls can be friends but sex is always in the back of the guys head, and generally it is the girl who gets to make that desision.(sp?)

Man that site is crazy. I suggest everybody check out the above link. He seems to have hit the nail on the head, but why invent some kind of system? If a girl likes you, then she does, and if she doesn't, move on.
