Your "acceptance of blame" is akin to my 5 y/o nephew saying, "I'm sorry" when he gets busted for eating cookies before his dinner and gets punished accordingly.

Plainly put -

He wasn't sorry for doing something that HE KNEW was wrong.

He was lamenting the fact that he got busted so we will feel "sorry" for him.

Two completely different things, dont you agree?
