I can talk only for myself when I say that - sure, it feels very nice when someone tells me I look good (its better to hear it from a girl, cause they rarelly compliment another girl cencirely), it makes me proud that my husband is not ashamed to be seen in the outside world with me and that he is probably proud to show off his good looking wife.
