Ca cops shoot and kill dog

If you as an adult can't defend yourself against a dog without using lethal force you're a pussy. Period.
 
The cops messed up. That was total garbage to shoot that dog. He wasn't viciously attacking anyone.


I hate dogs, but that wasn't right.
 
Damn why did I click on that link. The owner should have left and kept the windows rolled up. Never shot a dog that wasn't about to die but I have pepper sprayed the fuck out of pitbulls trying bite me. FOX baby burns like hell.

guys lawyer is way ahead of you. Wasn't he already going to win a couple hundred K from that dept? This one's gonna ding them up even more. People are allowed to take video of the police this has been established, so I don't know what they were going for when they walked up and arrested him immediately. I can understand only if they told him prior that he was too close and the music he was playing was too loud. From the tape it didn't seem like they gave him any warning whatsoever. Unfortunately the dog shooting may not get counted against them though.
 
I would've beat both cops to death right then and there if they didn't shoot me first. That was illegal as fuck and obviously trying to confiscate footage of martial law running strong. Fucking road blocks. Those cops deserve prison til eternity's end.

I will never live in California because there is no police accountability there. We know the shooting will not go against the officer.... California which is already financially strapped will ask the taxpayers to give this guy a few more hundred K for the dog shooting. The issue is when will this state start cleaning up if its police departments
 
People always blame cops for everything without knowing the full story. IMO I'm all for animal rights and I'm a dog adopter / lover, however if I was a cop and saw a dog run at me like that and obviously was being aggressive I will send off a warning shot and hope the owner reacts in time and tells his dog to calm the fuck down or if I feel threatened enough, I have the right to defend myself against man or dog.

IMO its completely the owners' fault the dog got shot because 1- the owner should not have left the dog in the car with the window that wide opened and should have minded his own fucking business 2- the owner should have told his dog to "sit" or "lay down" or calm the fuck down not obviously get excited when he saw his dog run at the cops

Everyone wants to be a hero and unravel some corrupt cop bs plot it's a little ridiculous these days...
 
Technically speaking, filming that cop could be considered obstructing an officer. We also have leash laws in this state, and a list of dangerous dog breeds that you must declare to your home owners or renter insurance & that dog is definitely on the list. I don't think the cop will have too much trouble from this.
 
Agreed with Woodyo. If an owners' dog attacks a random person, not just a cop, the owner has the responsibility to stop his dog...if a bite happens its completely the owners' fault and responsibility. In a lot of places in north America, that's enough for a dog to be put down.

Agreed and the dog does have a leash on tho but its not like the owner was holding on to it
 
The cops didn't break any law. The roadblock you speak of was there because they were entering the house to the top right at gun point so it only makes sense to block traffic behind you. They didn't arrest him for footage, he crossed police line after Being told to stand back. Anything and I do mean absolutely anything is PC to detain before an arrest. They didn't break the law.

As for a lawsuit he really doesn't have much other than possibly a small civil suit which won't get him a lot of money. But this is California so as soon as PETA gets in on it that dept will be shut down lol. Anyway he wasn't wrong for shooting it, everyone saying "oh I would have done this" no you wouldn't have, you don't know cause you weren't In that situation. It's all hind site now anyway.

I don't blame the dog nor do I blame the police. I blame the retarded ass owner who was ignorant enough to holler out "civil rights" lol wtf was that about. He Should have left and rolled up the window a little more.

Dont know about them but from my experience, After its all said and done, there was no PC for arrest. They were gonna detain him till the situation at hand was over then kick him loose with a few warnings.
 
I agree so many people are saying i would of done this or that but in reality I'm sure most of them would of done what the cop did

It's not about despising cops. I's about excessive force and what is done to protect the public. Shootings of humans which are way worse then this dog shooting get justified all the time the Ernest Duenez Jr. is a perfect example. Jonathan Cuevas incident is egregious due to the fact that an untraceable gun just showed up at the crime scene which supposedly was his , however his fingerprints aren't on it AND the video does not show him reaching for a gun at all.... Anyway Alfonso Limon is another example of California (Oxnard) simply trying to white wash their mistakes. There are whole groups looking for accountability in Anaheim after the Manuel Diaz riots. Atleast there were criminal charges in the Kelly Thomas case.

Enough, I'm saying what I'm saying because there's more than enough evidence and reason to justify distrust especially in that state.

Well-said. I've been following the story, and the whole thing stinks of White Cop-vs-Black Citizen abuse. The cops had one out for the dog owner, since he had filed complaints in an educated manner, against the Hawthorne P.D. for racist practices. So they're afraid of him and his lawyers, but scared of a dog that hasn't even done anything but bounce around trying to get back with his owner? COWARDS! just COWARDS!!!!!!

It may not be obvious from the footage, but it doesn't look like he crossed over a barricade or otherwise willfully disobeyed an officer. It doesn't look like they said shit to him until one of em approached. "IF" he was warned that he was crossing the line into a police investigation and he willfully disobeyed the warning than this situation is on him. Just taking video of a police operation is "not" against the law nor do cops have a right to stop it. Basically they provoked the dog then for no reason so while the officer in the end "may" have been justified in the shooting of it...the situation to begin with shouldn't have happened. And for that they will be liable.

Unfortunately, the DA's don't prosecute cops for the most part in California. All shootings I know of have been justified, no matter what the circumstances. The Kelly Thomas incident is the only one I can come up with where the DA,Tony Rackakas, put criminal charges on the cops who beat Kelly Thomas to death.
So the city and county will ask for a settlement and the taxpayer will have to clean up this mess....

Like California has money for paying settlements.....

Not taking the cop's side here, but for those of you not from So Cal - Hawthorne isn't a very nice place. You know all those gang movies you see about LA? or Gangsta rap from the 90's singing about Normandie and Crenshaw? Well, Hawthorne is right there with Watts, Inglewood and Compton and South Gate, so the cops who work Gangland are a little more hardened than some of the small town cops you may be picturing.

I wish this were a training situation. I think this is simply a symptom of how California (municipalities around the entire state) deal with police disciplinary issues. They simply don't.
So you're going to see gross excessive force used at times and those officers will not be punished in any way

It's disgusting and I don't blame the dog lovers for being outraged. Unfortunately , this behavior is nothing new

Could be considered that by someone who doesn't know the law. It's not illegal to film them. Period.
 
Fact of the matter is they illegally arrested him and then killed his dog for no reason. If you can't see through the police bullshit then in my opinion you're a lost cause. Severe criminal charges should be placed on these two guys. A guy walking his dog took some video with his phone. NOW his dog is dead and he's been arrested. Tyranny at its best.
 
Since they were performing an illegal arrest, the dog had a right to eat them. They should be lethally injected for the dogs death alone.
 
From what I read, the dog owner was already sueing the Hawthorne PD and had been filming them as part of his case.

Also, the youtube video is edited. There's an unedited version that shows the dog lunge at the officer twice.

Well yea no shit, police dogs are officers. They're trained not to bite unless commanded to. The dog lunged at the officer twice. No matter what he would be screwed. Punch the dog, kick, mace and God forbid he tase the damn thing.

So someone killing a police dog should receive the same punishment as killing a human being? You're a moron if you think so. The cops could've been civil and let the man put his dog away properly seeing as how he never resisted.

so the tables are turned and a police dog chases/lunges at me for what I determine is no good reason and I kill it, it's partner has a right to shoot me? I realize that's highly unlikely but that's fucking ridiculous to think its acceptable.

That's just it. Police dogs are bred for their job and carefully selected and trained. They will not disobey their partners commands. I don't think I've ever seen a story of that happening. I would put a whole clip in your chest before I shot a dog. Dogs don't know any better. People do.

This Isn't even about the dog. It's about him being white and a cop in a run down neighborhood full of pieces of shit.
