Bye Bye Lakers

The Whole F/N Show said:
Phil is a very good if not great coach. I dunno about all the Zen master stuff and some of it sounds a bit silly but the Lakers didn't win anything untill he got there and they had arguably better talent before he arived too. The 4-peat just seems like something that's just not gonna happen again but who knows. I'm not a Lakers fan but other than Kobe and Shaq the team isn't very good at all so I give those two their credit. Kinda like A.I. and he's one little big man doing it all by himself. I wanna see Dallas win but I think San Antonio is gonna take the whole thing.

Precisely

Did you see Derek Fisher ball his eyes out after losing? Poor baby. Has to settle with only 3 consecutive championship rings courtesy of the Shaq/Kobe show.

It will be interesting to see how the Lakers respond. If they are through winning rings and the shaq & kobe era as a duo is done or if they can bounce back next year. If they do not bounce back and win a couple more titles I don't believe you can put this team up there with Jordan's Bull's or some of the other elite teams of the past.

the lakers need a defensive PF on thier squad, a dennis rodman or Horace Grant type. Or they at least need a 3rd option on offense. While shaq and kobe are one of the 2 best players in the NBA, the rest of their squad isn't so good or have seen better days. Meanwhile the Spurs have some very solid role players, much better so than LA.

First point....whoever said Phil Jackson isn't a good coach, you are stupid. He is easily one of the best coaches ever. Personally I can't stand the guy, but I can't ignore the fact he has won 9 titles. That is some serious stuff. So don't be a moron.

Second point....Shaq has some, but very little skill compared to other players in the NBA. He gets a lot of leeway from officials. He travels constantly. He intiates a lot of contact which could be an offensive foul half of the time. He stays in the lane for 2 and a half hours at a time. He doesn't have an abundence of "skill." He has some, but compared to other NBA players, not as much. It doesn't matter too much though because overall, he is the best big man. Like it or not.

Did not know that Shaq and Kobe were the same person.

On your first point, you have to admit he was priveleged coaching elite players over the years
