im interested in buying a treadmill for my home..is there any certain thing to look for when buying one..like the max. incline etc? any response will help thnx oxox

Hmmm a quality gym-type treadmill will set you back 5k dollars over here in the UK. I would definitely suggest getting one that has a guarantee for the motor.

Also important is the size of the running area, for safety reasons. Is it as wide as a conventinoal gym treadmill? Are there rails and an emergency stop button just inc ase you fall over?

Note that if you have the motor cranked up to max it won't last long, so get one that will go significantly faster than you are planning to run at.

Cushioning is a factor, unless you have expensive running shoes lol.

In looking at gym equipment, I decided I could afford a LOT of subs to commercial gyms for the price of a decent treadmill - you could even join a "cardiobunny" gym JUST to treadmill if your weights gym lacks good cardio equipment or enough of it - this would still cost less than a really nice treadmill.

Anyway, don't expect anything decent that is actually NEW with a motor for less than a grand.

just my 2c - I decided to just keep up my gym subs, as I couldn't afford anything nice.

And unless you have one of those big-ass basements you americans all seem to have that we are all way jealous of over ehre, get one that can fold away....

It all depends on what you need and what you can afford. I am assuming that you live in the states.

Are you going to mostly running or walking?
How much do you weigh?
Are you the only one going to use the treadmill?
What do you want to spend?

My suggestion is to go and try out a few treadmills. The most important thing is that the treadmill is comfortable to you. After you find one that you like find out some technical info. Like what is the warranty and who does the service if it breaks.

I know about most treadmills on the market right now. If you would like PM me and I can help you find one you like. If you go to a speciality fitness store you can usually get them to give you a discount.

Oh, and if you plan on running on it, don't buy a fold up.
