My parents are wanting to get back into shape, and have given me the task of helping them do it. So I'm buying stuff. Lots of it. Whee!

Most of the stuff I've already decided on, but my big question is, what kind of bar should I get? I want one that's nice, affordable, and has revolving collars. Also, what's the difference between an olympic bar and a powerlifting bar? The York olympic bar is $430 vs. their $325 powerlifting bar. Is this a good choice?

You want to get the York Chinese set with the 1500# bar. That's what I got. It's a higher grade set than the one that's $99 but no on ewas buying it so they're now selling them at cost.

$149 for 300# set and I can attest that it is good quality.

My guess would be that the rings are not the same distance from the center. The distance between OL bar rings is longer than PL bar rings. Not sure about this but I know it's one or the other way around. The pro's can correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually thaibox, I'm already buying that for myself :)

Or maybe I'll get this

And one day, THIS

This place has so many custom made bars. They have a 2" diameter one here that weighs 110 lbs!
