Bro that shit is legal, they were just trying to scare you to get some money out of you. You did the right thing by not talking crap to them and keeping calm. One of the guys at the granero gives me a bussiness card everytime I go and he says call me if the cops mess with you. There is a lawyer in San Diego that advertises quite a bit in Mex and at the border on a bilboard that deals with drug mugling. Not sure on his name though.

I've spoken to a few guys who went down there this weekend and the federalis are really watching everyone going in and out of the vets and pharmacies. Probably has to do with the ketamina shit going on...

Sorry to hear of your trouble though you did get to keep the gear. All the talk of vet items being legal and such is fine for board conversation and as far as I know correct, but it is missing the point, a point being from Russia you probably understand. In a country governed and policed by a system racked by corruption, legal and illegal is often determined by the individual "civil servant" LOL you are dealing with. You got balls to stay as cool as you did, but I must say, and I mean no offense bro, you stayed cool out of ignorance. You were aware of your rights and the legality if what you were doing, but this only gave you a false sense of security. The reality is legal had nothing to do with the outcome of yur encounter. You happened to have dealt with a low level, non-violent (atleast in this situation) bastard out to make some cash. I'm just saying that a situation is never under control, no matter how legal your actions are or are not, when you are dealing with officers in a completely corrupt system of governance. Man when you go to TJ ALWAYS keep some extra cash hidden on you for just what you went thru. They realized you werent hip and had no other cash and so they let you go. Had they taken you in, someone of a higher authority not involved in the con going on by the three would have fried their asses. They are trying hard to crack down on the cop corruption in TJ. The dirty cops are using the elevated security status to fuck you. Be advised you were lucky.
