Burning the fat from arms, pecs, lats?

Hi!

Should I do a helluva lot more cardio? What are some more effective ways to targeting these spots on the body through exercise? Think if I use the Navy SEALs training routine that I'll be able to burn a lot of unwanted fat and actually have definition?

What's a good diet to go along with the SEALs training routine?

Thanks!

You cannot spot burn fat. You can only go after the whole package. Diet and Cardio are the only ways to achieve this my friend.

Ephraim the fat comes off in an overall fashion. There is no way to spot reduce fat through training or exercise. What is the navy seal training routine?

run rabbit run

get on a good diet and run yer ass off, every day you dont lift, run.

I agree with everyone on this forum - no such thing as spot training :) Trust me, I learnt the hard way, thought I was too clever for everyone's advice and went ahead with my daily training routine, yet my diet sucked - so where did I end up? I got the muscle I wanted, but I looked worse coz I was still flabby.

Diet + Training = Resutls on your entire body

That's what's happening to me. I'm getting stronger but I'm also getting fatter. Once I get paid, I'm going to get a membership to a gym my friend frequents. He's training for the SEALs so I guess I'll train with him, but I need money! lol.

This is so weird. I gain plenty of muscle but I also gain plenty of fat. Therefore, I have barely any definition and what little definition I do have is of my arms. I was so much stronger in high school a year or two ago when I was lifting with buddy (guy I mentioned above). He got stronger, I got weaker, but he also a whole lot more cardio work than I ever did.

I guess I have my priorities wrong. Cardio first, lifting second?

If you're a typical dude, those should be some of the first areas to see fat go, with abs being the last. Just count calories, and make sure you're low.

Actually, I would like to be a SEAL, but I have an advertising firm to run, and a band to tour with.

45 minutes of cardio!? :alien: I was only doing 10 minutes of cardio (bike/steps, 170 hr, level 10 dynamic to weight).

10 min isnt gonna cut it, work up to 30...when thats too easy go 45...gotta do it first thing in the AM to be most productive

From what I've read, HIIT may be a good option for you. It's supposedly better at burning fat and sparing muscle than longer periods of low-mid intensity cardio. And it seems that doing cardio on an empty stomach (especially in the morning) is a bad idea because of the loss of muscle tissue.

I've only started doing it (or my attempt at it), so I can't comment based on experience, but there's a lot of good information from other people on the Net. Here's one thread that I found helpful.
