Well, Im about a week and a half into my dbol/sust cycle, actually having some good gains already in strength when boom, today it all comes to an abrupt halt. I was doing dbell bench with 80s, pyramiding, so I wasnt even at my heavies yet ...the guy next to me (the benches arent very far apart) who is probably in his late 30s, but obviously fairly new to lifting (but the kind that wear tight cut off shirts and have nice big guts) is doing incline dbell bench and on what must have been his last rep just drops his weights...which would be ok, except that he kind of threw them outward and it fuckin hit the weight in my right arm and yanked my arm down.

Long story short, it didnt seem too bad but I felt a pop and an aching feeling in my shoulder so I left the gym and the ache wouldnt go away(and it feels really weak). Went over to my parents place, cause my mom used to do PT and she thinks torn rotator cuff.

I would drop the cycle and do pct, but my long term gf and I just broke up a couple weeks ago (btw thanks to everyone who posted on my thread about that) and I am not really in good condition yet to go through the "clo depression" ..it hits me really hard.

Anyway Im thinking of switching over to my winny supply and doing some dieting/cutting for now. What do you guys think? Anyone had a rotator cuff issue before? Think switching to winny and continuing the sust is an ok idea?

winny with a bad rotator? Lets see what the bors think about that. Id say run npp

most doctors would say the same thing: REST.

what did you say to the guy who dropped it on you?

So the guy pretty much threw the bells down?? You shoulda just picked them up and threw them back at him!!!!! IMO, do not start the winny b/c that'll make it worse (personal experience). Like the other bro's said, a little TLC and see how it feels next week. Good luck bro!!

yeah, thanks guys. Think Ill just stay on the dbol and sust and ride it out till next week.

As far as the other guy, I didnt even say anything to him really. When it hit my weight I said "fuck" and he was like "oh dude Im so sorry" etc etc so I couldnt really be mean to him at the time. Now Im pretty pissed at him though obviously.

ya bad enought when injuries are self inflicted! even worse when it is caused by someone else! tough break scak. if injury not too serious continue with cycle to keep juice levels constant.

Hey man go back to the gym find the dude and drop a freekin 45 lb plate on his foot ! Then say Oh man I'm so sorry....

Hope it all works out for ya Skacorica..

Just to be safe take a week off from upper body workouts. Think big picture, one week out of I'm assuming 10-12 isn't all too big a deal.

I wouldn't jump to conclusion thinking it is torn. I have seperated my shoulder before, felt a pop, and bam it was back in. I am not saying it isn't torn, but would suggest an MRI to fully know. Its hard to tell if a rotator cuff is torn without technology, even the most trained eye would have difficultly telling.

If you did seperate your shoulder, you may notice that it hurts for a bit (week to two weeks) because of swelling.... still I would advise getting an MRI.

Good luck!

PS how many lower body lifts do you have?

The best thing you could do for your body is to let it heal. Other than that I'd suggest nandrolone (deca or npp)

I agree with rest for now. If the pain goes on for a while you could look into training your good shoulder in hopes of getting a sympathetic muscle response in the injured area.

I tore my r.cuff, and trust me if its tore, you wont be able to lift shit, give yourself a good week or two before even trying anything heavy. You might have just slightly tore it and if you keep at it, you'll just be ripping it more. The juice is going to put water into the joint, which will increase the risk of injury. PT is the best plan right now, you need to do standard rotator cuff exercises, take a ten pound plate and do small circles, and big circles in both directions bendingover, this will aid in the supporting muscles around the shoulder, which will help you protect the joint. Hope this helps.

Fuck up the guy who did it for starters.

I thought I tore my pec last Mon. and was almost convinced that it was serious. One week later after many massages and stretching and icy hot etc. It felt alot better. Not close to 100%, but I don't think I tore anything, but was able to go really light today. Anyways I've had rotator cuff destruction from baseball and TLC, icing, and more TLC is the best thing to do. No winny, I dunno if I'd do PCT after a week and a half on that stuff, but its up to you.

That sucks bro, hang in there. I am a former collegiate baseball player, I was a pitcher. I had a bad shoulder the whole damn time, obviously attributed to a crushed rotator cuff. The rotator exercises are definitely of paramount importance, they saved me. Do some internal and external rotation work with a band. You will be back in the game before you know it, I could have probably opted for surgery but I didn't. You have to take care of your shoulders, they take a massive beating when you are training heavy. I would go so far as to say that EVERYONE should do rotator stuff as a pre-emptive measure to prevent injury. Good luck and let us know the verdict!

That's just ridiculous that he wasn't mindful of where he was throwing weights. Sue the hell out of him! Make sure you get enough to compensate you for this and every other cycle you will ever run in your life (under the guise of compensation for pain and suffering, of course) in addition to the cost of rehab, massages, ect to treat the injury.

Thanks guys. Ive been trying to test it a bit tonight to see how it is...I can move things around and pick things up, but it gets weak very fast...even just lifting my arm. It gets achey as soon as I lift my arm up basically.

How long did you guys wait before doing rubber band exercises etc after it happened?

Also, I have a fair amount of lower body lifts that I can do in the mean time, never hurts to give lower body some extra work. I am just frusterated as hell at this point.

When your fully recovered, i would head back to the gym and workout next to that guy again, and accidentally drop a DB on his head. Then just say your really sorry and carry on with ya W/O. That will teach him.

Here are a couple of rotator cuff exercises that you can do with bands. I've had problems with my right shoulder for a long time. These exercises have helped me a lot.

This one is a little hard for me to do and my PT has recommended not doing it because your shoulder isn't very stable. However, a friend of mine benefitted a lot from it:

This one has probably helped me the most. I do it standing with rubber bands...both arms at the same time.

This one works well, too, but I find that without a Shoulder Horn, I can't hold my shoulder steady enough.

Good luck, bro. Shoulder injuries suck, but if you're patient, you should be back on track in a few months.

thanks for those exercises. My arm is pretty shaky, but I seem to have some strength in it still...Ive not tested anything heavy, but I could still pick up everyday things for the most part.

Im gonna give it this week and then next weekend see if I can do an arm workout without making the shoulder mad. My bis/tris are behind on overall developement anyway...actually chest is too, compared to back, but not much chest I can do with shoulder issues :/
