Brock lesner

DORIANHH

New member
Hey dudes,

Was watching UFC lastnight and seen Brock Lesner in the crowd and they said he was the new Heavy weight fighter. any one got any info?
Also he seemed huge. Can he still be on juice as a pro fighter?

They just signed him. Well he can be on the juice, he just needs to come off in time. Alot of fighters don't seem to do it correctly lately. He trains over at Minnesota Martial Arts Academy sometimes, along with the former lightweight champion, whom is waiting to appeal a positive steroid test.

Just seen his first MMA win against Min Soo Kim. The guy's am animal.

There is no UFC HW champ right now.
Couture sent a letter retiring.
White says you cant retire from a contract.
Apparently, Couture is pissed with some of the Pride contracts and has a Hollywood agent.

LMAO...everyone's an expert on MMA these days. Lesner will dominate. Just give him time.

I fight mma and I can say with certainty that just because he looks the part doesnt mean anything. Everyone thinks they can fight mma until they get in the cage and experience the mental aspect of it, the chess match. The smarter fighter will win 90% of the time. He has the tools but does he have the chin and the brains, that remains to be seen.

the same thing goes for amateur wrestling and he did pretty well there.

as far as his steroids-- he was busted with IGF-1 a long time ago but i dont think that physique came from IGF-1. He is a naturally big strong guy but cmon..... Test Suspension right up to the fight.

OMG! whatever dude, listen to yourself. I think you're the one who is trying to be the "expert" here  . I was simply stating something that is kinda common sense. If you're one dimensional and the only thing you're good at is wrestling, and you have no stand-up game, then you're not going to get very far. It doesn't take a fuckin "expert"like I apparently am, according to you, to know that. The key word in my earlier post was the word IF.

Just like everyone thought, myself included, that crocop would run through the HW division here. Remember when Lesnar tried to play ball? He was getting "BEASTED" by practice squad lineman. Point is, someone who's been doing something since they were 12 is going to be better than someone, no matter how physically gifted......has been doing for a short period of time. You know how many schools these guys train with before they're anything in MMA? And they've been doing it since they were in high school. Lesnar was a great wrestler from what I've heard, but how good do outright wrestlers do in the UFC? It's a component, just like submissions are and just like standup is. Doesn't take an expert to see that the best fighters in the world are very, very, very well rounded. That takes years to develop. You put Lesnar in the ring with even a second tier HW like Vera.....he's getting owned.

Jake O'brien is a one dimensional wrestler, who is undefeated. Cheick Kongo only has striking and can't stay off his back. Both are top ten. Brock Lesner can hang with any top heavyweight.

No one will "Beast" Lesner on the mats.

Lesner currently trains wrestling with the 2007 ncaa HW wrestling champ.

He is the new breed of fighter.

Brock Lesnar was the most athletically gifted heavyweight wrestler in the last 20 years of freestyle wrestling...watch his old matches on tape-- they talk about if only his skill level could catch up with his athleticism...thats when he was WINNING THE NCAA's.

Brock will be champ someday, or could be at least-- MMA is quite unpredictable..but he's already a top 10 heavyweight I bet.

"new breed"?? Do you watch MMA bor? The "new breed" of fighters are guys that are beasts on the ground or standing........period!! The one dimensional guys are going down like every other month now. And Kongo is a taller Crocop who will be grounded and submitted very shortly unless he up's his game. His win over Crocop didn't impress me due to Crocop now being exposed as just a K1 striker with a wicked left foot. Kongo used his reach to stay outside the whole match, and crocop doens't have the tools to make him pay for that. And I'm very underwhelmed by his striking power...........Gonzaga would put him on the floor with "one" right hand. This guy had crocop dead to rights for 3 rounds and couldn't finish him..........one dimensional. Sorry, but guys like Fedor, Couture, Henderson and Rampage are the "new breed" so to speak. Lesnar has YEARS to go before he's going to make an impact in the UFC. Guys from pride who have fought Bob Sapp will not be afraid of Lesnar, and there goes his biggest advantage.......inimidation. Top tier fighters aren't fazed by size and "mean looks" in the slightest. If you honestly think a straight ground and pound wrestler is going to dominate the top HW's in the world.........you haven't been watching MMA in the last couple years.

That being said I think it would be awesome to see Lesnar come out and tool people, I love that guy..........but he'd better be well rounded or he's going to get hurt.

They just train at the same school Minnesota Martial Arts Academy. Lesnar is alittle big for sherk. lol They are working on Brock's striking and his old assistant wrestling coach/training partner helps him alot.

Hey, you're leaving out GSP, BJ Penn, Tyson Griffin, Nick Diaz, Gomi, and Anderson Silva in your list! :( ;)

I disagree with your opinion of Crocop, but, your observations about his last fight are dead on.

I was listing the big boys, some Light heavies in there too who I think have a legit claim to top 10 fighter status. Of course BJ and GSP are fuckin studs........there's just too many guys to list.

I hope Crocop isn't done.......I love that guy. But reality is that he's probably too old to relearn the game.....which is what he needs to do if he's going to compete. k1 strikers aren't going to get title belts in MMA federations any more.

I rember when brock did the f-5 on the bigshow.
and the interview after wards .brock looks like a freak but his face looks like a young 15 yr old english school boy ,all round soft and red in the cheeks.

I think MMA has become entertainment and are rigged up just the same way boxing was but not as bad as wrestling.
he will have his fame untill the next thing comes along.

I mean back in the day when it was shamrock i think it was more real but even then I think he threw a few matches.

it is not rigged. It is a sanctioned sport. Now, does fat tony and Vegas have an influence? Who really knows for sure. I can't say it has never happened in sports.

What I was afraid of is exactly what is happening with posts like these...People associate MMA with Pro Wrestling b/c of the massive marketing efforts by spike and the UFC owners. Branding MMA as "Ultimate Fighting" is the single biggest hurdle and mistake in the sport today IMHO.

lesnar does look VERY explosive in that video. He's a bit smaller from his WWE days, but looks in better shape. I'll give him credit, he looks like a fighter.

I have a hard time not believing he is gonna kick some ass. I am definitely gonna have to hit the strip club up to check out the free ppv's

He'll be juiced up and have a top notch Chemist on hand to cover it up. Anyone smart and with some cash would.

I couldn't agree more. UFC is rigged. Anyone that saw the Tim Silvia/Randy Couture fight would definitely agree. They were laying on the floor the whole first round having a very nice conversation.

Would Floyd Mayweather would beat Sean Sherk? Not a chance.

But I guess we see things differently.

dude get serious, Tim never recovered from that monster right from the jump, you cant fake mma and unless you have ever put it on the line in a cage you shouldnt even spit those words out.

yep, never fought in a cage..............just gangbangers from Oakland when I was bouncing.......

are you talking about an MMA fight or a boxing match between mayweather and sherk, cause that would determine the winner........

I agree that the UFC "more than likely" is NOT rigged. But who knows..........these guys roll all the time in training, so it might not be too hard to put on a good show. At the lower levels though, absolutely not...........those guys are balling out trying to get to the bigs.

your so right bro, the fights my team goes to are guys banging for a chance to get into the dance

It isn't rigged at all man... not any more then boxing... which isn't IMO...

He's knocked some out before.
The HW's are not what they used to be.
Then again Silva is getting older and he is not what he used to be either.

He was never in the UFC.

I was going by these dates and events:

"On March 27, 2007 The UFC and PRIDE Fighting Championships announced an agreement where the majority owners of the UFC, Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, would purchase the PRIDE organization"

"With a special clause in his PRIDE contract that allowed him to fight under the banner of any mixed martial arts organization as long as the event was held on Russian soil, Emelianenko accepted a match in BodogFight against Matt Lindland. The fight was held on April 14, 2007"

Did shogun fight a heavyweight?

Is Shogun Wanderlei?

terrible comparison.

Offline.......

relax, i like pride guys, but i loved seeing forrest put a beating on shogun....all the pride kids had to take the cocks out of their mouths for a second

those pride guys are all coming back down to earth now that they're getting tested. Ramp and Henderson seem to be the only guys unaffected...........but crocop and shogun both looked deflated and from what I saw of vandy, same deal.

Has anyone heard about what Mark Hunt is doing?
